Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

Nobody I know has heard of it. It's a really different keyboard layout, for those who don't know, and it's supposedly easier and more comfortable to type.
You can find more information at Wikipedia.
If you've tried Dvorak, did you like it? It certainly seems nice.

Bleh that one gives me a headache.
I'll stick with the good ol' QWERTY thanks, even if I do ocassionaly fudge up when I'm fasty typing.

Dvorak is supposed to be a lot faster. Qwerty was made to slow us down because the old typewriters had a hard time keeping up. It's kind of archaic now so I don't know why we still use it. I have friends who made their own Dvorak keyboard (ie: they pried up all the keys and switched them around).

Ew, that looks horrible. I type fast enough with the QWERTY keyboard, and I don't want to learn a whole new layout. Bleh.

Qwerty was invented on the typewriter as in that way as when parading the invention around you only needed to focus on one line, the top as all the letters of typewriter are in it.
Dvorak doesn't really interest me.

I went for the cheaper "Scotch tape and write in the corner" method. =P

It's good if you're new to keyboards, but I can already type with 80% accuracy with a QWERTY keyboard without looking and getting used to a new layout is too troublesome.

My fingers have spent seven years familiarising themselves with the Qwerty keyboard.
No thank you, Dvorak xP

No, I haven't heard of it. Although it's quite interesting - I wouldn't want to use it!
Even if you did get a Dvorak you'd get used to it but then everywhere else you went- school, library etc- would still be in QWERTY and used would get confused.
.... well I would! =D

Good lord, I had enough trouble on a Hungarian one.

i dont think i'd get on well with it:
The right hand should do more of the typing, because most people are right-handed.

Yeah, I don't feel the need to learn another keyboard layout when I would only use it at home. ._. The "qwerty" is efficient enough for me since I'm not really that much of a speed typer anyway, and I'm happy with my speed.

No thanks, QWERTY is good for me, and plus, it took me a long time to get used to a French Keyboard and it is very, very similar to QWERTY.
Thu Mar 02, 2006 8:51 pm
Ick! I'm already pretty fast on a QWERTY keyboard, why relearn how to type?

*shoots makers* I don't like the keyboard for that reason alone!
