That sounds really stupid. The whole point of American Idol is (supposedly) to judge the singers by thier talent then people vote for the best one... but some people vote out of sympathy or because they think the singer is attractive which seem to be the only requirements to win for Gidol since no one even has any talent. 
The whole concept of Gidol is dumber than the original reality game show itself.
How do you pronounce that anyway? Geye-dol? Gee-dol? Gid-ole?

I don't think the winners of Gidol will get record contracts, be celebrities for a few weeks or get anything superduper special - it's just a thing for fun I'm assuming so not really too greatly stupid...

It seems pretty stupid, which is on a par with American Idol. Also, they seem to be hijacking the word google as its name because of Google, Inc. Even if they say they aren't affiliated with them. "Google Idol" will always make everyone think of Google, Inc. It's a marketing ploy
