Pink Ink -- Issue 25 (finally seeing the light of day)

Thu Jun 01, 2006 12:12 am

After some prodding, I've published the newest issue. Alex has been missing for quite awhile now, which made us all scatter like lost sheep and not publish this issue, which has been due for about four months now.

http://www.pinkpt.com/pink/index.php

Anyway, as I stated on the frontpage, I seriously don't know when the next issue's gonna be (mainly cause I don't lead PI anymore). But who knows, if we get a flood of submissions, we'll probably publish again soon. :)

So get reading!

Pfft. It's a great issue, but it so would've been better if I had sent in SOMETHING.

I'm going to try to work on Quizbowl again, but instead of that, if I can't, I will start submitting chapters from the novel I'm working on. :)

Just a reminder, send Member of the Week guesses to me instead of Holly from now on. :)

OH my gawd! NO way! :P

I'm glad PI is back. :)

Hunh...I forgot about that wee sprite comic. Hehe, that animation is terrible XP It happened because I had the comic made already, then realised the stretching of the tables problem so I tried copying each frame from the image to Flash. It didn't really work XP

Note to self : Make another comic and find some way around the stretch problem

I am sure they are still busy making it though when the deadline for http://www.pinkpt.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=28088 is only the Pink Inkers working on Pink Ink know. The last post in PPTers Say The Darnest Things was 8 days ago so I currently thinking that the deadline for PPTers Say The Darnest Things might have gone.

A webpaper takes many things as you need Artists who are great at drawing, News Reporters who report the news as they see fit, Copy Editors who check the spelling in the articles, grammar etc as well as making sure the text flows smoothly. You also have to a Editor who is in charge of getting the thing out as well as hiring new people (To paraquote Cyn with sites everywhere and guilds and everything are deteriorating from number of members I wouldn't be surprised if we end up seeing a PI recruitment topic pretty soon due PI wanting new Contributors) and all of this take time. (Just to name a few webpaper jobs)

Also in webpapers you need great articles that make the webpaper team and the readers who read it happy that great work went into the product. Some webpapers have comics as well for humor and if PI wanted to start a Arrow the Chicken comic by one PI's artists then I expect PI can do it.

The great thing about Pink Ink is there is no set time for recent PI issues so the PI team go at their own pace whilst juggleing their own lives.

Issue 26 will be done when the PI team are ready to release it and I like many others here am looking forward to reading it and BTW I'm not bothered by how long it takes for issue 26 to come out as I sure wait that the issue well worth the wait.

Remember everyone that everyone gets burnt out and needs a break every once in a while yes even Pink Inkers do get burnoutted so we shouldn't hate them for taking a much deserved break every once in while, I mean they have to chill out and we don't want them killing themselves (or their artistic inspiration) on the job!!!

Your true fans will be ones who keep coming back.

Peace out.

EDIT: Misspelt wouldn't.

Combusken BG, thanks for your support.

Yes, the next issue will be out. We're unsure when, as a lot of the Pink Inkers have developed lives (gasp!), and we're sorting out a lot of things behind the scences, which none of you guys will see.

However, PPTers Say The Darndest Things doesn't have a deadline - if the article has been sent on, any more quotes just get added to the next article. So submissions for that column aer always welcome.

Rest assured, we'll be getting the issue out at some stage - we just don't know when just yet ;P

Ooh, I just realized that PI would be the perfect place to maybe submit my column. Who do I submit it to?
