Britney Spears Changes Baby on Store Counter?

Fri Jun 16, 2006 7:37 pm

Did self-described "good mom" Britney Spears show off her hands-on parenting technique while simultaneously proving her lousy people skills? Us Weekly says she had staffers at a Victoria's Secret in Mission Viejo, Calif., turning up their noses when she popped by on June 4 to pick up a few pink thongs.

But it wasn't the expectant Mrs. Federline's choice of unmentionables that had store workers sniffing. It seems that when nature called for 9-month-old Sean Preston, his apparently manny-less mom decided to plop him on the floor right next to the counter and change his poopie diaper.

"Britney then tried to hand it to an employee," a mole tells the mag, but the salesperson supposedly declined to dispose of the stinky mess.

Rest of story...http://movies.msn.com/music/hotgossipB2

What would YOU do if a celeb came into your store and started to do this?

Arrest her for being tabloid trash, then also have her charged with being a bad parent, and if that still doesn't put her in prison, then charge her for changing the kid in the store.

Haha, I like that!

It's pretty sad that she did it in Victoria's Secret, while shopping for thongs....and she's done it in an upscale restaurant...that's just disgusting. People like that should not be allowed kids, and Child and Family Services should step in.

Oh give it a break people. Leave the person be to have her kid. Child had a poopie diaper. Get over it.

Seriously. Anyone who follows these celebs around just needs to get a life.

Yes the kid had a stinky diaper...but that's not the point, the point is...if you have a kid that needs a change, you just don't slap them on the nearest counter to change them, you go to the bathroom.

Think of the workers in Victoria's Secret, imagine their faces when they turned to see Britney Spears changing her kid on their counter.

Or think of the families in that one restaurant when she changed her childs diapers on the table, and not in the bathroom, away from the public. I'm sure a few people lost their appetite there.

If you read what you posted, she changed it on the floor, not on the counter, so it's probably less of a distressing thing. Whatever. To be honest I don't really care. I really think people just need to leave her, and her kid, and her family alone. Let the girl live her life, she's only human too. People seem to think that she belongs on a pedestal or something, and she doesn't. She's a bloody person. Not a god.

There will be a whole article if she is caught breastfeeding in public. Ugh. Get over it.

Exactly. Heaven forbid a mother make a mistake.
No one would care otherwise, except of course, this is Britney Spears, and thusly, we just need to harass and harange her because any mistake she makes is at least eleventy billion times worse then a non famous mother making the same mistake.

That is a sick story.

I wish I hadn't read it. *barfs all over the place*

Tell Brittney to clean that up, would ya?

Um...she did it in an inappropriate place. Most shops have public toilets. If he was really in a mess and she needed to change him quickly, why not rush him to the nearest toilet? It's common sense, it's good manners and it's appropriate, full stop. What she did however, wasn't. I've never liked Britney anyway and now I dislike her even more. Silly woman.

So? I'm betting thousands of people have changed their babies in places that may be inappropiate. yet, because she is Britney Spears. She gets an article. Get. Over. It.

Yes. And I think any mother who will change their baby in a public place is doing something inappropriate. I never said anything about it was wrong for a celebrity to do it but alright for other mother's to do it. It's wrong all together.

I agree that people make too big a deal about what Britney does. She's only a first-time mom and is bound to make mistakes. It can be awkward when you have to change your baby and you are out shopping. I should know because I had 4 and they tend to poo at the most inopportune times. lol She really should have went into a changing room or a bathroom, though. I'm sure she wasn't alone, so someone could have easily stayed with her purchases while she went to change the baby. If not, you just speed your shopping up, buy what you picked, then go off to change the baby. If you want to come back then and buy more, cheers to you. :)

You're basing your like/dislike on her because of where she changes her kids diaper? Have you ever met her? Have you ever spoken with her? How can you judge her simply by what the tabloids print?

I'm not saying it was right or wrong as to where she changed her sons diaper, frankly I don't care. My point is that we shouldn't be making such a big deal about where some woman changes her diaper. Poo is a fact of nature. Every human does it. And it's incredibly uncomfotable for babies, kids, adults, anyone to be toted around in their own fecal matter. I'm sorry but society is getting too hung up on things like this. Get over it.

EVERYBODY POOS!

Oh so what? Someitmes baby needs changing, and baby needs changing NOW. It is not an easy thing to be a mother, let alone and easy thing to be a mother who is fairly heavily pregnant with one young child, and a husband who is a complete waste of space.

Jesus christ, give the woman a break. I'm sure people would care much less if she wasn't famous, to be honest. And if I was working in a store and she did that, i'd ask if there was anything I could do to help, much as I would with any other young, pregnant mother who is clearly struggling.

It wasn't the most sensible thing, but it's hardly crime of the century, huh?

Ginger Harp Seal Pup wrote:And I think any mother who will change their baby in a public place is doing something inappropriate

What, EVEN IF there isn't a changing place? Get a grip. Babies poo. Babies do not enjoy then having to sit around in that poo, so they cry their heads off. I'd rather have the babie changed than listen to it scream.

Paul wrote:There will be a whole article if she is caught breastfeeding in public. Ugh. Get over it.

Don't really know how you meant that Paul, but meh. I don't *think* you meant to imply breastfeeding in public is a bad thing, but I'm sure someone would criticise her if she did, which frankly disgusts me.
Breastfeeding is perfectly natural. Women have breasts for this purpose. God forbid a baby should have its dinner in public! I know people who have been breasfeeding quietly and unobtrusively in restaurants who have been asked by the waiter to go and feed their baby in the toilets. Well, I wouldn't eat my own dinner in a toilet so I don't see why a baby should.
