Today we had a school shooting at our school. It was insane. I got out of my car and all of a sudden one of my bestfriends, Melvin, comes up to me and starts telling me to go back home, that there's been a school shooting and what not, and knowing as how panicky I am, my stomach just like dropped, you know that feelinf right, anyway I started to just freak the hell out. I barely remember anything else, it was crazy.
According to some of my classmates, some guy named Mark Marcos had brought a gun yesterday or something and he got arrested, but then got released on bail or whatever, and then came back today with some of his friends and started to shoot people. Melvin told me later that when someone told them to leave the school because of the shooting he went outside to call his mom and then someone yelled they saw Mark so they all hauled arse out of the school. They arrested him a few minutes later, but his other friends escaped. Then he said that when his dad went back up there a few minutes later that there were people in there crying and having asthma attacks and anxiety attacks and all this crap. I'm so wierded out by all of this.
Today has been insane
No one was hurt as far as I know, but they still haven't caught the other people. They also locked down all the other schools, so no oen can get in OR out, and my little brother is all worried at his school. My mom did leave for Lubbock to be with my dad at the hospital so I'm home alone lol.
They've also taken down the town's local website. And all the school phones are busy.

I'm glad no one was hurt. Situations like that can get so chaotic. :/

Totally especially after what happened in PA.... Gah the world is crazy.
There's 2 other versions as well of what happened at my school this morning.
One is that Mark had said he had a gun or whatever and then he showed it and everyone got all scared so they ran out of the school.
And the other one is that some people were in a fight and someone pulled out a gun and shot.
As far as I know nothing has been confirmed yet.

Oh my God, Adex. That's horrible. I'm glad no one was hurt though.

Woah. Lots of shootings lately. One on Colorado, one in Wisconsin, one in Pennsylvania, and now this one. Why the sudden outbreak?
Good to hear no one was hurt as yours though! I'm sure they'll catch the other guys...the students who saw them will be able to supply info about what they look like.

That's horrible! I wouldn't want to ever go back to school if that happened. At least nobody was hurt.

Hey guys ^^, thanks for all your support, I've calmed down a bit now.
Yea, I'm kind of scared of going nack tomorrow. You'd think they'd close it tomorrow, who knows.
No updates, the local website is still down though.

Hey Adex, I'm sure they wouldn't let you go into the school if there was any chance that there would be a repeat. Just take it easy and get in the house before dark.
At least you didn't have to witness whatever happened... thank heaven for small mercies.
Hope you're dad's ok at the hospital too.

I am happy to know you are okay and that no one was hurt.
What is with all these people (some of which also kill themselves as well) who are going around shooting children and adults alike at schools worldwide? (There have been school shooting that have happened in Germany, Scotland, Canada, Yemen, Sweden, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Argentina and the United States according to
http://www.infoplease.com/ipa/A0777958.html)
Like DiscordantNote said I'm sure they'll catch the other guys since the students who saw them will be able to supply info about what they look like to the police.
Thankfully I'm glad that the none of the schools that I went to as a child didn't have some idiot going shooting people for fun.
Finally I hope that your dad at the hospital is okay.

THats awful I hope that everyone is ok. Question though, do you live in Virginia? Because I read in the news this morning that there was a bomb threat and they closed all the schools in a school district in Virginia. You said you are sketchy on details, is it possible thats really what happened? I feel kinda silly posting this since I have no idea where you live at all, just thought it was a bit of a coincidince that all the schools around you would be closed, and all those schools in Virigina were closed this morning.
Anyways you can read about that here if you want:

And I really do hope that whatever did happen everyone is ok. Try and feel better... I know hot chocolate always makes me feel better when I am scared or worried.

Eesh, that's scary. It's good to know you're okay though.
Nothing like that has happened at any of the schools I attended, except for a protest outside my high school which the police thought was a gang.
But yeah, the sudden influx is kinda weird, but it's not that much to be worried out, because the media overhypes things.

Although I understand seriousness of the situation, however, I'm asking that some of the political commentary associated with this to stop. This isn't the proper place for it, end it here or I will lock the thread.

Wow, that's terrible and frightening. o_o I'm glad no one was hurt. No innocent person should have to be the victim of some weirdo's delusions. Anyway, they'll probably catch the guy. Those kind of people are usually caught fairly easily.
