Woah.

My home phone couldn't even work without electricity. Now it's back again.

Yay!

I hate blackouts, especially when I am on PPT or when it is this dark and I am in my basement here (I have two computers, and our basement is finished, but still, we only have 1 phone that works without electricity) but I am glad it's back on for you.

Blackouts are fun! As long as you've got candles (and use them responsibly) and good company, then you can go without power for a while!
I suppose it does have its bad points, like the freezer defrosting and stuff.

About five years ago, we had a really bad ice storm and lost power for eight days, including my birthday. Mom made me a cake outside with a small fire and a box covered in aluminum foil. It was fun at first, but around day five it started to get annoying.

I love blackouts, but unfortunately, we're not going to get a blackout here anytime soon. :\ I used to get them quite often at the other house, and I really enjoyed them.

After Hurricane Rita, we had a blackout for a little while. Unfortunately, it was 100 degrees outside, and our AC wasn't working. That was not fun at all.

Just a note, unless the phone lines go down as well, as long as you have a corded telephone without an answering machine or caller ID or any other extras, it should work without power.

My power's been off and on all day. Hopefully it'll stay on long enough for me to post this.
I like it when there are blackouts. You can light some candles and read, and it's easy to pretend you're living a hundred years ago.

I remember that storm. My power was back pretty soon, but it was still a bit crazy. It took forever to get our house warm again. However, everything looked like a weird glass sculpture. That
almost made up for the rest of it.
