Sun Jul 18, 2004 2:50 pm

I'm pretty indifferent, I suppose.

Very jumpy though.

LOL....Okay.....

Has anyone had a bad experience with ouja boards?

Oh UGH I HATE those ouija (however you spell it) boards. They seriously FREAK people out... there was this article about those things in HK and well, we talked about it in RS and yea..it gets scary. I heard there were some people who tried it and ended up committing suicide.

NEVER EVER touch a ouija board. It will ruin your life.

Yea I believe in ghosts...like most chinese do.

My mum said she and a few school friends played on an ouja board, and when I asked her what happened all she said was "nothing very nice" or something like tht, and she refused to give me more information... :x

I've played with a Ouja board enough times to see that it's mostly psychological...at least in my opinion. Here's how it seemed to work, for me at least:

Sample Question: What's the best color in the world?
Ouja Board: *Moves towards random letter, let's say T*
Person Playing: Oh, maybe it's going to be Teal! *without realizing, pushes the moving-part of the board (not sure what it's called) so that it does end up being teal*

Or something like that.

I don't believe in ghosts, but then, I'm a skeptic by nature.

If that si what happens, why does everyone say their dangerous?

well my brother did it once and he didn't felt very good about it, he didn't believe the ghost, and to play a little, he asked: "What was the name of a rabbit i had when i was 6 years" (all his friends know my brother since he was 12 years, and he didn't remember telling it to anyone, if he did, the person couldn't have remembered it)

surprisingly, it did show the correct answer. My brother couldn't sleep for a few days and felt REALLY bad, he was sick and ate not much...

now he's normal again (it happened 3-1/2 years ago) and doesn't want to talk about it anymore...

things like that must lead to something... more...?

A bit off topic but you know they used to sell ouja boards in Toys R Us.

Seriously, they are really dangerous. It's scary how they get everything correct. Not that I've tried it, and not that I dare to.

I don't believe in them, but I don't not believe in them either. I live near one of the supposedly most haunted places in the nation, Gettysburg. Try searching for haunted stories about it, there are tons.

I suppose I do.

I try to think of it as a defence mechanism helpng people to remember that when someone passes away they haven't entirely left us. Pretty depressing, eh?

Yes I do believe in ghosts. Below is a link to ghost of Hampton Court. The ghost of Hampton Court is one of the reasons I believe in ghosts.

Sorry to ask the clueless question..but what's an ouija board?

Sun Jul 18, 2004 6:14 pm

1. ouija boards. I used to believe those, but not so sure anymore. When I was 15, me and a bunch of my friends got one because we wanted to "contact" our friend Adam who had died a few months before in a car accident. Instead of Adam, it was someone named "Chris" (don't know if this stood for Christopher or Christine) and said he died in the 1800's, told us that Adam wasn't ready yet. A few months later we tried again, and we had candles around us in the room, but every time we tried to light the candles, the flame from the lighter would bend the other way from the wick. Even if we held the candle upside down and tried to light it that way, the flame on the lighter would bend away from it. We never tried again after that.

2. Ghosts. Yes I believe in ghosts. Mostly because, and quite a few people here know this, a couple years ago I was sleeping in my bed and I felt the corner of the bed go down. I looked over and the ghost of my grandpa was sitting on the edge of the bed.
