I was writeing a story, and I was in the like.......4th chapter, when I had just saved it, and I was makeing room in my documents thingy, when I accidently pressed delet, ad i didn't realise untill I emptied my recycle bin! I have lost it forever now!
How could I be so silly?
And I am really not in the mood to tpe it all up again!!!
So, right now I am really stressed, I dunno weather I shuld just wrewrite the whole soty on paper, or just don't write it again.....?
I already have tooo many stories on the go, but thsi was the one that started them all, that gave my very active imagination a boost, and now I have to either wre-write it, or juts continue on with the storys I have got at the moment.

Aw twitchy. I feel sorry for you. I have accidentally deleted many a school paper by accident. I think you should re-write it, but try and improve on your previous bits. Anyway, look on the brightside, with all that head-banging-off-wall, you're losing 150 calories an hour! so it's not all bad. (sorry, I have to have at least one joke per post otherwise tension builds up inside me and I have a mini-nervous breakdown, and thats not a joke.)

Since its a document it can probably still be recovered even when 'deleted' from the recycle bin. Just search for an undeleter.

Theres such a thing as that? Wow, wish I knew about that about 2 months ago when I deleted my english essay.. jot notes and all.
Anyways, if you want to rewrite it, rewrite it. As far as I know, you don't have a time limit, so take your time!

Even when you 'permanently' delete something a 'memory' of it is still there. Though half the time your comp will have already put data overtop of it making it useless.

Thats happened to me many a time, I could never re-write it though, it never felt the same and I would always forget excactly what I wrote in certain parts. But if you really liked it and feel dedicated, then go ahead and write it over. May I ask about how many pages it was.

Aye, I fell your pain. Several months ago I couldn't sleep, so I started thinking about the story I was trying to write, and inspiration hit me. I got out of bed and began totally rewriting the story (including very detailed events leading up to my original opening scene) I was so into it that I typed for several hours without ever saving...
And then my computer froze up. My computer is tempermental and I could tell it was about to freeze up and die on me. I knew I would have to restart, and I tried hurriedly to save the story, but alas. I couldn't. It was gone.
Afterwards I tried to rewrite what I had written, but it didn't feel nearly as good, and I stopped wanting to even try.

That's gotta suck, I hate when that happens.
Try doing what the others have suggested, and see if you can get it back.

Doesn't Microsoft word have like a backup in case your computer crashes and when you load Word up again, your story is there? I thought I lost my book report before but I didn't...whew.

Microsoft Word has an auto save feature, but it only works if your computer crashes, not if you delete the document.
