Here at Penn State every year an event called Thon is held..its a 48 (46 this year) hour dance marathon to raise money for families dealing with childhood cancer. Its the biggest student-run charitable event in the country, and broke its own record this year, previously set last year. They made $5,240,385.17 this year, outdoing last year's total by more than a million dollars.
Anyways..it was a really fun time (No, I wasn't there the whole time, only a couple hours lol). It was pretty packed the whole time, and the building holds around 13,000 people, so that was pretty neat. Monty (Experiment) and I were there attempting to dance. I say attempting because I am not the most coordinated person in the world. Anyone else have any other cool stories like this from around where they live?
Anyways, here's a link to read about it and some youtube things which are pretty cool:

Edit - Changed the 2nd link to the one Monty gave in his reply.
