Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

I really love these videos, they just put a smile on my face with the idea that sometimes it can make a person happy to just have a hug for no reason. I can remember the original video, where was that filmed?

Wow, it's nice to see how it has spread. Does anybody know whatever happened to Juan Mann? I mean, did he do anything else beside this (or does he still do it)?

I've already seen a few of the videos and they make me happy and sad.
Juan Mann seriously started something amazing. As for what he's doing these days, I'm wondering too. He's probably proud though.
Funny thing is I lived in Tel Aviv when it was filmed there, and in Manhattan when it was filmed there, but I didn't get to see either one

I wonder why he hasn't come to the UK?
Oh yeah. He'd get beaten up by thugs, hit with handbags, sworn at, sued for sexual harrassment and then get stabbed by the husband of a woman he hugged.
Sometimes I really hate my country...XD

Are we in the same United Kingdom?

Depends where you live really.
London gets a lot of bad rep, but then its a megopolis of insane proportions so is quite likely to get bad press now and then, same for Sheffield (Albeit smaller but still loads of bad press)
Actually, no, it's mostly just insane media blowing things out of proportion, if the local papers had their way theyd have you believe I lived in the worst place in the world and that third world countries have nothing on us due to murderers and young thugs.
Had a nice chat with some little oik a few weeks ago about music of all things, although there are ofcourse the odd bad apple but what can you do.
If you lost my point in that don't worry, I did too.

Haha me and my friends did something like this while in line for a ride at Disney World. We did high fives. It was so awesome. I ended up giving my band director a high five and I didn't realize it until he didn't move his hand back. It was great to see the little kids run up and give us high fives. It made so many people smile and laugh though. One guy even wanted to take a picture with us! It was so awesome.

Yes...
Like Setekh says, it depends where you live. Some of the UK is actually decent. Other parts...not so.

Someone at Penn State did a free hugs campaign. I wanted to do one, but he beat me to it, and it was even when I wasn't there at Penn State! Oh well, at least he was spreading some love though!

aww... that's really awesome. I mean, helping your community by giving free hugs is certainly a different way of doing that

Apparently the Sick Puppies created the campaign

I suppose your description of the UK is hardly accurate then, is it?

Jeez Paul, who got up your smurf? I'm inclined to agree with Ginger. I can't imagine this ever coming to the UK. Especially not where I live where people have been known to get battered for "looking at someone funny".
