Old Thread

A film was just released for this insanely long marketing scheme ending in basically, "joo forge yor 0wn d3stiny!!!!111!1"...

Wasn't sure if this should be in Misc, Library, or Movie/TV... if it should be elsewhere, a mod can move it?

So it wasn't as awesome as they made it out to be? Not really surprising. I saw the book when I went to Borders yesterday and flipped through it. Didn't look particularly life changing or whatev.

My dad, ever the great believer in crap self-help books, wanted me to watch the movie. How about no? I don't need a bunch of bug-eyed self made millionares yapping to me about how the decisions I make influence my life.

we were showed that at school and the teacher pointed me out and was trying to make me look bad because i thought it was total crap. It is.

The universe will not bring this stuff to you. If you think positivly then your attitude will change making your chances greater. Humans can sense that stuff and thats all there is too it. Its not a secret or anything like that. If you have doubts about something then other people will sense that and it will fail because they will have doubts about it. It has nothing to do with the universe controling anything at all.

I can hope with all my heart for one trillion dollars and I will never ever get it. And then theres the fact that if 2 people wish for 1 trillion dollars there isn't enough money in the world...or they will most likely own many many countries. Its a ridiculous idea. It is not logical.

It's not simply a matter of faith...it's a matter of what you're putting your faith into. Honestly, if everything in my life is controlled by me, I'm in a lot of trouble. I disagree with this theory for many personal reasons. The "Law" of Attraction? It's a theory...100%. It cannot be proven...so maybe it's even a hypothesis. It's just another crappy self-help idea that doesn't work. Don't buy into it.

E=MC^2 is a theory and cannot be proven but we use it as the basis of all fringe physics..
Heck, gravity is a theory that we all accept that doesn't work half the time.

Still, my point being that Faith is more powerful than science when correctly applied.

Unless it comes to the H-Bomb, in which case Science totally owns Faith.

I remember waiting for this to countdown, and then onceit was released they sent me about 20 e-mails about it. That made me angry, to say the least.

Our teacher was telling us about this book...Apparently it's worked for her... Of course the universe can't give us what we want, it's a bunch of bologna. I've been picturing world domination and I'm no step closer to it than I was before hearing about this hogwash. <_<

Abu-Simbel - used to be a mountain, was carved into a temple, was moved by a coalition of 51 nations

The Sphinx - used to also be a large rock, was carved from the top down.
