Paper fortune teller

Wed Jul 21, 2004 9:37 pm

Does anyone remember those paper fortune teller things?
They use to be really popular.
You folded a peice of paper and wrote numbers on it and answers...
I watched the Simpsons and saw one and was like, "Hey, I remember those."
They were featured in an episode of the tv show Arthur way way back.
How do you make them and how do you use them?
I forgot...

I used to love those things. I had so much fun folding notes as well. I was one of the few girls in my grade that could fold them in "fancy" ways. ;P

Yea, I remember those, they were a fad, does anyone remember the push things? That were dares?

I haven't made one of those in years! :o I put some really mean things on there, and I figured out how to manipulate it right so I could either banish the person to hell, or give them a billion bucks.

Me and my best friend make them all the time >.>...we have nothing better to do lol.

We always used to make them! When I bought one of the Steel Angel Kurumi dvds (I can't remember which one), they had a fortune teller in it. I was *so* excited. :) I didn't use it, though, because I didn't want to ruin the collector's value of it. :(

Lol I love those! Although I always cheated and chose the ones where I knew the answer would be good.

Wed Jul 21, 2004 11:33 pm

Pfft, you are supposed to cheat! That's what makes paper fortune tellers so much fun. ;P

Yep! I definitely remember those. Oh, some of the things my friends and I wrote.....

They were never that popular in New Zealand, but I would always secretly watch them make it and figure out the answers needed for the good endings...cheating :P

The bad endings were usually pretty crass anyway.
