So I got my hair cut today...

Mon May 28, 2007 8:21 am

So I got my hair cut today... and the dude was like "wow you have really cool hair" cause i walked into the place with an afro cause my hair is weird like that.

He cuts it dry cause my hair is dry and shouldn't be cut wet cause when it dries it'll look real diff... so I get my hair cut for the first time dry... and I was like... cool!

He then tells me he has this vision for my hair... and that I should totally embrace the twists and grow it long and go real cool with it.

So he says cause my hair is really dry... I should only wash and condition it once a week... so my natural oils make it sexy.

That is all. Just putting it out there. Plus I wanted to see how much I could make you guys read a pointless post mwahaha.

I really cannot see you with a big afro...

It's always awesome to get a hair stylist who gets your hair and what should be done with it. :)

I can't believe I remember this, but he posted a picture of it a while back. I'd like to see a current picture of it, though.

That is indeed a cool 'Fro...

And I too had a hair cut.
there is now Two foot of hair sat -Quite ominously- on the living room table, and has been for two days.
Why, I'm not sure, but after the last few years I imagine it has taken on a malice of its own.

I couldn't picture Kym with a fro.
BUT I AGREE WITH PAUL, EMMA AND GINGER. WE WANT PICS. <3

Oooh, I don't know where you live, but here in the US, we have a program called Locks for Love. They use donated hair to make wigs for kids who are cancer patients. The hair that was cut off has to be 10" or longer. My daughter did it when she cut her hair. It is a sweet project. You can probably find out more about the program, if you google "Locks for Love."

I think that's probably why it's still sat there to be honest, Especially given the family history of cancer.

*pokes Setekh* Well, that gives even more reason to donate it. :)

It's Locks of Love, and it has been in serious trouble with the Better Business Bureau for various reasons. Notably, they take in millions of dollars in donations, grants, and sales of their wigs/hair, but they only provide about 100 wigs per year. For the most part, they are sold (not given) to alopecia patients, not cancer patients.

Speaking as someone who has donated hair to them, I'd strongly advise giving elsewhere.
