Anything and everything goes in here... within reason.

http://www.wnbc.com/news/13508892/detail.htmlI just heard about this on the radio, a Lawyer in New York sued and won over a parking ticket he got, he paid $10,000 over a $65 ticket.
In my opinion, sure it is OK to hold principle above money, but when you're losing this much on it, it just isn't worth it.

In the case of a parking ticket, I agree.
In the case of a speeding ticket, there's a much more complex internal debate that goes on, which involves not only the ticket cost but also the increase in your auto insurance.

You are of course correct in that you need to take into account all factors, in this case it seems the only factor is that e got a ticket he may or may not have deserved.

The $10,000 was likely in billable hours...given that he's a lawyer, I'm betting that it was his own time. It probably wasn't out of pocket.
Incidentally, I'm pretty sure this guy is one of my friends' cousins. If it is the same guy...well, he's got no sense of proportion and does things like this a lot.

is it just me, or does it look like he actually deserved this ticket?
the sign said no parking between 4 and 7. he returned to his car at 6:59, he didn't park it then. This implies that he parked it there before 6:59, aka, between 4 and 7.

That sounds a little ridiculous. But if you didn't deserve it, you should protest it. Oh well, his choice, not mine.

No, the time written on the ticket was 6:59. Presumably he got back some time after they wrote it out.

Does the supreme court really have nothing better to do?
