What do you have planned for the summer?

So what are all of you guys planning to do this summer? I'm planning to work and get another job while I still keep the one I have, work on my volunteer hours, spend time with family and friends, go to places, etc. I'm not sure yet whats really going to happen but what about all of you, what do you guys have planned?

I'm working for the Chicago Park District, getting paid $10/hr to have kids drive me crazy for six hours a day while they're at day camp. Luckily it ends the first week of August. Still waiting for that first paycheck, though!

I was planning to get a job, but I applied at about nine places(including places that would supposedly hire anyone) over the course of two weeks and got no response from any of them. The job market here sucks.
My new plan is to lie around the house all summer and accomplish nothing.

I was either going to get a job or take some summer classes at the local community college. The job market here is supposed to be good, but I've applied at a dozen places and haven't heard back, so summer classes it is.

I too planned on working all summer, but have had the same success as Moongewl. Unfortunately, I have to keep trying, or it would be impossible to pay rent. :-P Ah, the real world. Blah, don't like it, lol.

I had every intention of going out and getting a job. That was about a month ago. Now there aren't any jobs left so I'm perfectly happy sitting here not doing anything and actually relaxing for a change.

This summer is.. pretty busy for me, actually. Busier than most, anyways. Tomorrow, I'm heading out and getting my license (hopefully this time, the DMV doesn't have a shortage of staff, and will be doing driving tests). In just under two weeks, I plan on attending drum major camp at.. Eastern Illinois University, I believe it is at. Then after that, there's pre-band camp at school, July 24 and 26 (Oh joy, I get to be there two times on those two days! In the morning and in the evening!). Then there's... band camp. July 30-August 3, or something like that. Then the next week, I get to register for school, and school's the week after that.

And I believe I'm going to look for a job after I get back from drum major camp. Woo, going to run myself ragged. ;D

I'm working on a construction site all summer. And after that I want to move out permenantly. Whee. Construction makes me tired, bitter and cranky, hence why i'm not on PPT very much.

But on the days when i've had lots of time to inhale various substances (which i'm fairly sure many of which are carcinogens...) I normally feel loopy and like to make random posts here!

Currently, I work at my dad's office or the same company my dad works, as a summer intern. Double minimum wage, yippeee!! Then after work, I usually exercise by going to the YMCA or running in circles around my neighborhood. This is the same routine for the next 3 months.

During the first week of August, I'm going to go to a Christian youth camp (which will be my last year ). I've been going to the same camp for 8 years now and that's going to be the highlight of my summer.

Other than all that mess, I have to get ready for college (first year!!) in September.

Go to a 2 week class late July and early August. Go on very long car trips. Go on a plane. Do some computer stuff. Nothing much.

Summer? Is there a difference between that and the rest of the year, aside from the fact that it's nasty hot? My "summer" is the same as the rest of the year...just keep working, just keep working, just keep working, working working...

Okay, admittedly, I've been out of town twice for weddings, and will take a day off toward the end of August since my inlaws will be coming and I need to SUPERCLEAN. But yeah. I'm envious of all of you who don't hafta work.

im going to england, then wales. then back to england to catch a flight to new york. stay there for a few days. go to broadway etc. then we're going to toronto for a few days!

should be cool. anyone got any good place to go to in new york or toronto?

I applied to a few places. None called back. I even did a training thing at one but they found someone more qualified. (Ok is was assistant chef and they found someone who had experience in that). Then I had contacts for another place which i have called about 50 times and they have been avoiding my calls and not returning them. So thats out of the question.

So summer is swimming, being lazy and having fun.
