I can think of two solutions, One: Get a memory defragger, Two: Kill AIM.

Try defragmenting your harddrive, that makes everything run faster. Or, get more RAM. I noticed on older computers (with less RAM than newer computers) it generally slows them down a lot.

Yesss...kill it...what would you want that junk for? It's so annoying. Adds popups and everything. :( I hate it, and I was so glad my dad re-installed/re-formatted(?) Windows XP, 'cause I couldn't get the bugger put.

98% computer usage on aim? That's cuh--razzheeee... maybe you need to reboot and run scandisk + defrag.

Uh... Last I checked, AIM didn't add any popups or anything of that sort to my computer. YIM is worse, it added things I told it not to install. <_<

Well, I always knew I couldn't kill off all the spyware on my comp -___-

Or, Kill Windows. Find a nice Linux distro with Gaim packed in. Go to town with it ;)

Switch to MSN, much easier to work with :)

Wow, I don't think I've never had anything use that much space before.

But, yes switching to Trillian will work. You could also try Gaim.

AIM doesn't have popups and "everything." That was probably spyware.
