I haven't physically seen my closest friend in... Two years now.
But somehow, she's the only person that stops me from going barmy altogether.

My best friend lives in Indy, which is about 6 hours away from me (maybe more). I'm lucky if I get to see her once a year. But we do leave eachother messages on myspace alot. And I miss her dearly

You should give her a call.
It's good to keep intouch with friends. Better now than later, eh?

Yeah call her. I've got a friend in Morocco I'd better call too. Maybe call and email in between calls?

Hm, I vote for you calling as well.
You've reminded me that I only speak to my gradeschool best friend on myspace... and that I haven't checked it in about 4 months. Ohdear.

Call her. It might feel awkward, but it'll still feel better than not calling.

It's a best friend and you haven't called her in a long time? *confused face*
Just call her... when I meet up with great friends who I haven't seen in a long time, it's like no time as passed at all. We just pick up from where we left off.

That's what I was thinking.
I'm not trying to run in on your parade, but if you haven't called her in six months, and she hasn't called you in six months, doesn't that kind of null the whole "best friend" notion?
Anywho, just call her and talk casually; say "I haven't spoken to you in a while, how's it been going?". You'll be surprised at quickly you'll start talking again

Yeah I thought it was really strange. I talk to my best friend like... four times a day on the phone and see her a lot... we're like... Will & Grace.

yeah. 'best friend' lives three states away...and until about two years ago, we'd go nine months a year with no contact whatsoever and be fine with it.
Ah, the joy of having a cell phone i never use anymore...
I've decided to call her, by the way
Tomorrow...(procrastination at it's finest!)

Glad you decided to call her.
If it make you feel any better, my best friend and I only talk everyone once in a while (usually once in 3 months). We grew up together, but now live in different states with crazy different schedules (she works at Disney World!), so we rarely have time to talk when we're both not working. But when we do, neither of us are upset about it and we have a two hour conversation and catch up on the important things as if we hadn't had a gap in talking at all. Thing is, I know if I do call her, even if I get her voicemail, she'll still call me back as soon as we can to find out whatever it is (no matter how trite) I called her about.
To me, every relationship works in it's own way - doesn't make them worse or better just because you don't talk frequently.

You can have a best friend that you rarely see. It's all a matter of how well you're able to pick up where you left off--my friend from high school lives an hour away now, and we rarely see each other, but when we do we get along just like we see each other every day.
