Tim Russert (1950-2008)

Sat Jun 14, 2008 12:16 am

Earlier today, Tim Russert passed away the NBC Washington Bureau while recording voiceovers for Meet the Press. Although, I did not watch his weekly show Meet the Press; it shocked me when I heard that he had died. He was a great journalist.

REPLY TO MY PM, YOUSE.

Anyway, back on topic.
I was pretty shocked when I heard he died too. :( He was so young, too.
They haven't found the cause yet, have they?

I think i heard they're suspecting a heart attack.

He was never my favorite, but it's still sad when someone dies unexpectedly, and it was still a shock. I know he had a huge impact on journalism too.

What a sad day for NBC and the world of journalism :( Tim Russert was an amazing man and he will be dearly missed by a great many people. The last I heard, they were suspecting a heart attack, cardiac arrest, or something similar. Keith Olberman looked like he was going to start bawling earlier on television. I know that the flags in Buffalo, NY (his hometown) were at half staff this afternoon and will remain there most likely for several days.

Such a surprise...I was really shocked when I heard about it. It's crazy how quickly death can come. My thoughts and prayers are with his family right now...so sad.

I felt horrible after hearing the news.

It was quite eerie, I had watched him on television a day or so before and his death just seems so unreal.

Sad, sad day.

My hometown is only 30 or 40 minutes from Buffalo, so the news kinda hit me hard. You're always gunning for the "hometown heroes" to be successful. He was a great asset to journalism and died way too early. He was one of the few political commentators I actually liked.

For some reason I cant think of ever watching him, which surprises me. But sometimes I have trouble remembering new casters.

But I do greatly respect his career, which spans my entire lifetime. He was intelligant and dignified. I admire people like that.

This really shocked me. I was going into my kitchen to empty the dish washer when CNN was reporting this. I thought it was a joke at first!
