Okay, today I was at Target and I decided I was tired of wearing really boring conservative clothes etc. and I bought a bunch of pink and black punk-type stuff. The only thing is that nobody else at my school really dresses like that and I think my parents might freak out too. I like it myself, but I don't want to weird out everyone else. What should I do?

If that's how you want to dress, then wear it. Don't let what other people will think stop you from doing something. Trust me, you'll be much happier not caring what other people think.

Be yourself. You shouldn't be ashamed of that, and your parents should understand you want a change.

I say try it for a day, see the reactions, see how you feel, I once wore my insanely shiny purple silk shirt in town, I'm sure a bit of punk gear will be less conspicuous.

Dear Santa,
Yeah, just wear what you want to wear. Dont care what others say about your clothes, just be yourself. If you feel like you want to wear clothes like that, then wear clothes like that. Simple as that.
(Dont mind the top and bottom, it's a goose.)
Yours Sincerely,
Hyperactive Little Boy

The thing is that I like the style, but I don't know if it's me because I've never worn it before.
Then again, I could use to shake things up at school ('cept for my grades!) Maybe people besides my friends would respect me more.
Thanks for the advice, guys.

its all about being yourself...because if your not yourself then who are you?

Who CARES if it's yourself? If the clothes look cool, wear 'em! That's what I do!
(Note to self: find funky goth pants in my size...)

I don't fit in with what I wear at school. Probably because I hate wearing clothes that actually match
If you like it, wear it.

You are what you wear so...

Wear what you want to wear, even if people do give you odd looks. I should know, the only thing I ever wear is a ripped flannel shirt and jeans, every day.

do waht you want and damn the rest!
do you think i dont get odd looks wearing my fave shirt (a green shirt with an oriental dragon on the front, as well as four tears because its eight years old..) and my old school trousers (sporting a large hole in the knee where i spilled some superglue and then picked it) aswell as a fraggin great black jacket (no matter the weather, i seem to have adapted to a desert tempretur somehow, as im always cold)
well, do ya?

Don't let them stop you. They'll just strip you of your individuality.
