I want a create a topic on my forum that lists valid proof techniques. Whatever examples you could provide would be very helpful.

What I want are examples of how one can appropriately prove one's point to be fact. Attaining reliable sources is one way.

I want to make a sticky topic on my forum, specifically in Serious Discussion, where debates are commonplace, and people tend to make claims without the right kind of proof.

I think encouraging members to link their references would be the best way to go about that. Although, with informal debate you can't really expect everyone to keep track of their sources.

An example of an invalid proofing technique would be something like: "I'm right that globalism is a better system than nationalism because Albert Einstein and H.G. Wells believed in such a system."

What I mean by invalid proofing techniques -- example: 70% of Americans are against homosexuality.

You need valid proofing techniques. Quoting someone popular saying it is an invalid proof technique.

Anyways, I think I'll make the sticky, but later if I haven't made a good list by then.

Just make people post links to their references... that should work the best.
