My ears...

Wed Aug 25, 2004 5:12 pm

As you probably don't know, when I was in...third grade, I got my ears pierced. They were infected the entire time they were pierced (except for the time when mom put dental floss in my ears, which is supposed to end infection...it works btw), and finally in fifth grade, one of my ears ate the back of the earring and I had to get it taken out. They closed up when the earrings were taken out.

The first time, I got them done at a booth in the mall. When they closed up, the doctor said to wait at least two years before I got them pierced again. So here I am, going into eighth grade, and I just got my ears re-pierced at the doctor's office. I really hope nothing goes wrong. The earrings are gold thingies with diamonds in the middle (they were the only ones available besides plain gold or silver, but as luck would have it, diamonds happen to be my birthstone.) I'm so happy. :D

I hope this time, I learn how to put them in myself...:P

Lol, I've never had my ears pierced. Not really had the urge to.

Well, good luck. You're getting them done at the doctor's office? Is that because they get infected easily? Hope it all works out. :)

Hope they don't get infected again. I'm sure the doctor is more reliable than a booth in a mall though.

I've never had my ears pierced. I wanted them done a few months ago, never did it, now I'm not bothered anymore.

The first time I took out my earings, I had these really nice elvish ons to replace them. And I had just bought them at this gift shop (we were on a school trip) so I took the gold ones out and couldn't put the new ones in, so I was running around, looking for Emma- who had had her ears done for a while, hoping that they hadn't closed up already, and that she could put them in for me

I know my ears get infected whenever I have earrings without gold posts. You might be allergic to whatever was in the first pair of earrings.

Yeah.. I'm allergic to something in earrings to, so I have to get some with gold posts or whatever. My mom has the same problem, so she knows what I can or can't get.

2 years?? That sounds crazy. I was told 2 weeks :P

And every piercing I'v ever done also got infected.
And one time the stupid old lady who did one, used a earing (what ever they are called which the first piercing is done with), that was meant for the nose, so it was too short, and after 2 days the front of the stud got sucked into my ear. I left it like that for a few days, and then I realized I had to pull it out, which incredibly hurt since I had to pull the studd out from the back.

when you get them pierced, get earring that are solid gold (no little rocks or diamonds or whatever). the glue that hold those extra pieces together does not help.
get it done at piercing pagoda, too. they have the special little earring backs that make sure the earring doesnt mess up.

Good luck on a safe piercing this time...I really should get my ears pierced one day...

Congratulations!

I tried that when I was about 6 or so. It hurt really bad and I whined and cried even though mom was spoiling me by taking me to the toy sections of the mall and everything..to this day my ears are not pierced. And I don't want them to be. Jewelery is my enemy. (Besides necklaces)

*shudders* Never get your ears pierced at a mall. Got mine pierced at the mall when I was five, and the girl pierced them too low in my ear.

My earrings caught on my pillow about two weeks later when I was sleeping and ripped straight through my ears. Woke up in the morning, and I asked my mom if she could put them back in for me. I hadn't realized the earrings had ripped through my ears. ^.^;; Had to get stitches in them.

I've also had my earring go inside of my ears and get stuck there in the 3rd grade....Eh heh.

But if you got them pierced in a doctor's office, then I'm sure you'll be fine. :) And diamonds are awesome, so it's all good.

Piercing pagoda is the place that messed up my ears the first time I got them pierced. I'll never go to that place again, special stupid little earring backs or no.

oh, well the first time i got mine pierced was at claires and a doctor had to get them out. piercing pagoda was ok for the last 5 holes in my ears. 7 by march.

Claires were ok for me actually. They gave me some special cleaning liquid to stop them getting infected. I've had mine done twice now (two sets of holes btw) and I've never really had any problems. Good luck anyway!
