Bites/Stings appearing on me...

Tue Aug 31, 2004 8:19 am

Recently I've been getting things resembling bites/stings on me. They've come from absolutly nowhere that I can think of. There's some on my arms, legs, feet, even two on my belly.

My friend thinks it might be ants, because they're so small they can probably crawl up me without noticing, but you've have to have a few ants on me to make that many bites and I'd be sure to notice.

Plus I've been wearing long sleeved tops and jeans for the past 2 weeks, so that's like a sort of..proection..thing...

Last week I went someone with nettles, but I'm positive that I never touched any.

Has anyone else ever had any bites/stings like this?

I live in australia, I live for winter when all the bugs are dead!

Maybe they aren't bites, maybe its like an allergic reaction to something?

I've had an allergic reaction before. And it was much more than a some little lumps. A rash all over my face and I couldn't open one of my eyes. Believe me, I'd know if it were :P

pfft I nearly stopped breathing and couldn't open EITHER of my eyes :P

It might be a different allergic reaction!

Have you been under any unusual stress? It might be hives from stress... happens to the best of us.

The last time I had something like what you are describing, it turned out I was having a reoccurance of chickenpox. They first looked like bug bites, mosquito bites that is. I was got way more than one so I went to the doctor, he thought it was some infection, like something you get from water in hot tubs.

Problem is I hadn't even been in a hot tub ¬_¬. He prescribed some antibiotics, which only delayed the chickenpox from developing. Later they got nasty and got puss in them, so I went back to the doctors because my mom kept telling me she was sure it was chickenpox and the Dr. didn't know what he was going on about. Well, then he, I guess recognized it and agreed I had the lovely chickenpox.

Nope. All I've been doing these past few weeks is watching the telly and going on PPT. And eating. And sleeping. And drinking. And boring stuff like breathing.

Oh dear....I've had chickenpox before, but it was really mild.

*counts*

4 on the inside of my elbow
2 on my ankle, 1 on my foot
3 on my right leg
3 on my left leg
2 on my tummy

There's probably more, most are on the underside of my leg.

have you changed your bedding recently? sometimes you can be biten at night and never be the wiser to it. They sound too scattered about to be proper hives of any sort.

I never really get bitten, but this summer they had a real party.
You should see my leg =/...

Yes!!! I've got these mondo bites on my arms that I can't remember getting, because they all appeared the same day and there's like 10 of 'em!

It could be no-see-ums (they really do exist), or spiders, or even bedbugs (i'm not sure where you live... so who knows if these live where you do).

I suggest changing your bedding. ALL of your bedding, and washing the stuff you do have in the hottest water you're able too. Comforter, blankets, everything.
Same with your pillow.
And always remember soap.

If that doesn't help... *shrugs*
