Tue Sep 28, 2004 1:20 am

Where can I download flash? Not so I can play like Neopian games, I want to make a flash-animated comic for the NT.

I think its a program you need to buy.

I feel your pain. I want it to.

Yeah, I believe it costs around $600. Save your pennies.

you can try the trial, I do not know what limitations the trial might have.

Unless you have had lessons on how to use it its not worth buying. It contains no tutorials or help in an manner or form, plus its hard to use.

I got the entire Macromedia Studio MX 2004 from a friend- don't know how exactly he got it. But anyways, yes, Flash is very hard to learn, not something you can just go by trial-and-error to reach its full potential, or even a little bit of it (much, much harder to learn than something like Photoshop). I've barely gotten through the basics and it's been quite awhile- even after using Flashkit.com to help learn.

You can get Flash MX [or Professional] 2004 here. Costs quite a lot if you want to use it for more than a month though- which is...barely enough to get anything out of it. If you're pretty serious about creating Flash files and want a cheaper alternative, try SWiSH Max.

SWiSH Max is around $100 USD, Flash MX 2004 is $500 USD, Flash MX Professional 2004 is $700 USD, and the entire Macromedia Studio MX 2004 is $900 USD.

But...I'm sure you'll be paying in fifty dollar notes..or less ;)

Yes, flash is expensive and not at all easy. I took a course on it which was 5 hours a day for a week, and still only just scraped the surface of it. And believe me, I'm not some computer-illiterate kid.

I suggest that you stick to regular art for now, unless you have a lot of cash to spare. :(

Oddly...
I had little to no problems learning how to use Flash.
But I used the version before MX.
Ontop of this... it was a five month program through my second high school.
*shrugs*
It's not hard to use unless you try to do too much too fast.
If you get the basics, and build up, then you'll get a ground in it.
Just don't spend all that money on it and then never use it. Because that would be a waste, and that would... well not be good.
Download the trial and see what you think. *nods*

It is very hard to learn, it took me a while to get the basics of it.

Yeah, Flash is veeery expensive. I got FLash 5 in a web design package for about $300 USD. =D You can go to AcademicSuperstore and Spysroft, where they sell software at discounted prices to schools and students.
