*sigh* I need good ways to come up with $

Mon Nov 01, 2004 10:14 pm

OK, I need some ideas to get some cash before Christmas because I HAVE to get down to one of my bestest friend's house and the plane tickets are $400... :( And I am willing to do ANYTHING to get the money I need, I moved recently and I haven't seen her in a long time although we do keep in touch and she is the coolest person it the world.
Got any ideas?

Get a job.

Get someone to drive you there.

Get a job.

Hmm...I'm assuming you're not in college yet, so if you're not, you can probably get a job at McDonald's or someplace that doesn't require a college degree. If you have one, I'm sorry for getting your age wrong.

Or you could babysit or do odd jobs for the neighbors.

Parents.

Beg them until they give the money to you.

Mon Nov 01, 2004 10:50 pm

-.-' I can't find a job right now, sadly there aren't any avalible where I am.

Offer to babysit, clean houses, mow lawns, shovel sidewalks, ANYTHING.

You could always have a yard/garage sale and sell some of your old clothes and other things that you don't use or need anymore. It might not make you TONS of money, but it might be a start.

Also you could talk to your parents about borrowing the money from them and paying it back a bit at a time through chores or something?

Well, you could come up with a brilliant idea, sell it to an entrepeneur (I know I spelt that wrong) and make loads of cash.

Barring that, beg or listen to Fidds. Good luck!

If you have Canadian Coins... Look for a 1973 quarter, the one with the Mounted Police on the back... If you have one, and on the queens side there's only 28 dots rather than 35, you have a coin worth thousands. You don't have to count, just if there's a gap between the edge and it, its worth it. But thats not very likely to be your cure-all, seeing as there's about 1000 in the whole world.
Hmm.. Yard Sale?
But for the most part, odd jobs. I had a brilliant idea, other than the coin one( :battar: ) but I forget it.

Ooh. Babysitting works. You have to be really sweet, though, or the parents won't pay you very much. Make the kid like you but don't be too free so that both the kid and the parents are happy. That way, you'll get more money and the parents will call you back more often.

Or you could offer to mow lawns. It's hard work, but nobody likes to do it, so you'll get payed a lot of money for it. If you're strong and can withstand heat and grass clippings you should try it out.

OR go to your local Kroger. They'll let anyone bag anything. Because the whole time, the bag boy will be under the supervisation of the cashier, and it's a rather simple job. I'm not sure about the pay, perhaps just minimum wage, but it's a good try.

You could try selling things on ebay, who knows your trash may be someone's treasure :).

You can pet sit :), if there aren't many children around your neighborhood see if there are pets you can watch. Maybe even offer to walk people's pets while they are at work or something like that.

Use your parents :p, or use their "connections". My first job when I was 15 was working at my mom's company for 8 dollars an hour, at my age and considering I had no prior experience, that's very decent. See if your parents can hook you up at their workplace, you are more likely to get a higher paying job that way.

How about tutoring? Are you really good in a particular subject in school? Maybe you can tutor someone, charge them less than a real tutor would and you might get more people looking for help. This is really good if you can play an instrument. My sister used to pay this guy 10 an hour for him to teach her how to play drums :). Or how about teaching neighborhood kids, lots of parents lack the time to do things like this but you can help them.

Or hold like a community party hehe if it's summer where you are, hold a block bbq and charge them to get in :-p

Do you have an indoor pool you can become a lifeguard in? that's a really good paying, fun job :).

Oh and if you are good with making graphics, you can like make them for people and sell them :). Or creating websites for people...or even selling your sketches if you aren't great with computer programs :).

If you are really good with fixing things maybe you can like ask if people need help fixing something around their house...like a handy..umm woman :P. Or fixing computers.

I know it maybe too close to christmas by then, but if you didn't get the 400.00 and it's getting close...you can giftwrap presents maybe for people and charge them per present. You can get cheap wrapping paper and material and if you are great at it you can make good money :). I know this girl who was really good at wrapping presents and she worked at her mom's store doing that, made money in tips etc.

OOOOOhh what about helping put out christmas light? That's something people hate sometimes, untangling them lol...you could charge to help them untangle their mess of lights :P..okay maybe I'm grasping for straws here but I'm sure someone would pay for that. A lot of people are willing to help people if they need it, as long as they get something out of it I don't know why they wouldn't want to. Even if you have to be cheap about it, as long as you are getting some money :)

If it's hot for you where you are, you can hold a car wash :).

How about holding a holiday bake sale? If you are smart about it you can earn more than you spend on the ingridients and you can have fun...just remember it's important to advertise it. The cheapest way of advertising is word of mouth so get to talking! :)

There are online sites that pay like cents for spending time online. Some are actually legit, I can't remember the name of one that my friend went to. She actually got checks in the mail from them. You could try researching that.

oooo I was searching online for more things and I read this "Deliver newspapers. If you sign up to deliver a lot, you can make up to $100 to $200 per week!"...so maybe you could deliver papers :)

oh how about taking cans to the recycling center? Don't they still give money in some states for that o_O. that idea may be iffy for you, but if you want that ticket you won't care much :).

Hope something here helps :)

Well, there's always alternative methods... nah.

Try seeing if there's some skill you're good at that you can market. I for example am good at fixing gaming consoles. Anyhow, advertise for it somehow, and hope you're as good as you boast.

I for one am personally astounded that Charisma is not already a Millionairess  :P

Some good ideas here. Im sure you'll figure something out, mate :)
