Thanks to DM, I have just sent a letter to the one and only Amy Lee! Her birthday is next month on the 13th and DM was kind enough to send me the address to where I could send a letter. I just mailed it. Now I know that I might not get a reply but I was wondering, has anyone ever sent a letter to someone famous or well-known and gotten a reply back?

Thanks to DM once more!

Wow, good for you! I really hope you get a reply! Did you write a lot?
I've never been really dedicated to any singer/actor/etc. so I can't say I know what it feels like to accomplish something like that.

I went through this phase where I sent every celebrity I saw a letter. Most of the time you do get a letter(form letter) back with a picture. :)

The only personalized response I got was from Michael Chricton's (sp?) personal secretary. Got a real autograph too. ^_^

2 pages long. I didn't want her to look at it and say "Not another 50 page essay". I hope I do get one back. But based on atomicblonde's answer, I believe there is hope!

I learned the hard way. Sometimes it's not pretty. I sent a e-mail to Arnold Schwaneggar this month and he personally wrote one back. He said to stop writing to him.

I sent Judy Blume a letter once. I got a form letter back, which didn't answer my question.

I also sent JK Rowling a letter. It wasn't exactly a fan letter though (it wasn't a hate letter either), and I never got a response.

Wow! That's awesome, Ammer.
I've never written a letter to anyone famous. I wouldn't know what to say!
How did you fill two pages, Ammer?!
