Why does this keep happening?

Whenever on my computer, it happens where my screen will automaticly turn the screen off, It just recently happened when I was doing my destruct-o-match tips on the gaming board. My pc is two years old, my mom thinks its a loose wire, but the screen will come back on. The computer doesn't turn off and the light on the screen doesn't turn off, the screen goes pitch black though
