hehe... Well I live in a very squirrel-y, deer-y, duck-y, and fox-y area, so we've been taught from an early age that if they don't run away when you walk up the them, they're most likely sick =/ However there are some very friendly foxes that live around my house, my mom feeds them by hand. The ducks are very used to humans because they live in the park and people come and feed them all the time... the deer wait outside my house to be fed and don't get scared when people walk out... and the squirrels... well they're all crazy. I've never been attacked by one but I imagine it would be an interesting experience.

Oh, and the closest Ikea to me is a 3 hour drive (Houston v.v) so I've only been twice I can remember, though I've been told I've been three times. *shrug*

Mmm! Little animals!

*puts on a bib with a squirrel picture on it, and takes out knives, forks, plates, and a shotgun*

I have never been attacked by a squirrel yet. But we do get way too many greys and not enough of our native red squirrels. Thanks to the grey squirrel invaders that importing into the UK centuries ago to see a red squirrel is very rare sight indeed here.

Anyway there a bird table at home and my family end geting grey squirrels stealing food that we have put for the birds during the day.

I sincerely doubt it was rabid, mind.

Oh for crying out loud. It's a squirrel, it's hardly a monster.

LaceyJade- Grey squirrels are cheeky little buggers and will let you walk up to them without running away-it's not because they're ill, they're just like that. They will also come up to you begging for food. Walk through Hyde Park in London if you don't believe me :P

Actually, if I'm mistaken you cannot get rabies from a squirrel. The word "rabid" is fun to say though. Have some rabid celery, Merry rabid Christmas...etc. ;)

I think I've already told Skullsplitter this actually but I GOT ATTACKED BY A SQUIRREL!!!!!!! :o :o

I work at IKEA in Birmingham (drop by!) and you have to walk through a small woodland to get to the staff entrance. I'm walking down this pathway and I hear a rustle. I carry on walking and another rustle comes. Then suddenly this squirrel jumps AT me and shoots up a tree. I start screaming (loudly) as it scared me half to death and it JUMPS AT ME AGAIN! I'm there screaming and yelling and leaping about trying to get away from this freaking squirrel. It lands on the path in front of me and starts darting from side to side doing this little dance thing. I'm STILL screaming and aim a kick at it (wearing hefty, steel toe capped work boots) but it's still dancing so I missed. This thing wouldn't let me pass and started SPITTING at me!

So by now I'm almost hysterical (what? It was scary!) and realise I'm almost late for work. My friend was just at the staff entrance and she's looking at me really weird as she couldn't see the squirrel. God, what I must have looked like, screaming at the top of my lungs, leaping about, trying to get past this stupid squirrel.

In the end I think I must have scared it as it took one final jump at me and then ran off.

I'm not joking, it was really scary! :o Funny though.

I feel cruel for trying to kick it though, I'm glad I missed in the end. I've now come to the conclusion that squirrels are nothing but rats with good PR.

They love you :) That's how they say hello!

I think one time a squirrel threw a nut at me...I felt something on my head, looked down, saw a nut then turned around to face an evil squirrel looking all evil and stuff.

I grabbed the nearest thing to me and threw it at him (aiming to miss, just to make it go away and stuff).

A LEAF!

It ran up in a tree when I threw it. :D Serves him right!
