The pronounciation of the city name is irrevelant to spelling. If we were going to change the way we speek becos of how words r spelt then the inglish languge wuld crumbel into seever anarkee.

This is the English language! If you think it's screwed, then don't use it! The English language is made up of multiple languages and different pronounciations from exploitation of Normans, Romans, Vikings etc. So even if the pronounciation of 'Tokyo' is wrong from the Japanese. Then we must all speak accentless because of different sounds in our accents. Okay, guys? Pokemon Kid says we can't have accents because we may pronounce things wrongs and the only way to cure this is to get rid of them or change the whole british/american and all the other countries versions of the English language!

Oh, wait, hang on. dictinary.com doesn't find Tokyou, oh guess what Because it's not spelt Tokyou. Le gasp, how shocking.

GOTTA CATCH 'EM ALL!

Pokemon Kid, it actually IS spelled Tokyo. It is pronounced 'Toh-kyo.' In Japanese, the 'o' makes the sound that it would when you pronounce the letter 'o.' Most people who speak English pronounce it as 'Toh-key-o' because that's how it would be pronounced phonetically in English. If it were pronounced 'Toh-kyoo,' it would be spelled 'Tokyu.'

Anyway. I would want to move to Tokyo or New York City. I'd love to see CBGB's sometime. ^_^

On a change of subject...either Florida (somewhere on the gulf side, not the atlantic) or Madrid. I already know a bit of spanish and it'd be cool to actually live the culture.

Then if we change the English language, everything would be less confuzing! No more 0/10s on Spelling Tests when you are actually spelling the word like what it's supposed to be like!

I mean:

Out = Ow-t?
It's supposed to be "Oh-uu-t"! If Oxford formatted the English language now, some people would never get it.

It's true that English is made up of many languages, for example: French, German, Dutch...But you have to admit, some words are pretty stupid.

Colonal = Kernal? What the heck?

Tokyou wasn't found on Dictionary.com, because it is a Romanized word in Japanese! If you were to translate 東京、日, it'd be Tokyou.

Synonyms, Antonyms and Homonyms. Already three words that are not proper.

Synonym:
1 "Sin-oh-nim"
or
2 "Sin-oh-neem"

I'd pick 2. Olde English (yes, OLDE!) said it like that.

But, that's not what I wanted to say. Homonyms are words that sound the same, but are spelt differently. There, they're and their. Those words are stupid. It should be like:

There: "Theh-reh"
They're: "Theh-ahre"
Their: "Theh-eer"

Santa Claus' name came from Saint Nicklos.

Saint Nicklos: "Niiclaus"

Say that over and over, you get Santa Claus. We got to lazy and started to say Santa Claus.

Anyways, I should restrain from trying anymore. I don't want to star a war, Mr Rude.

Ooooh, I forgot to say why I'd want to live in Florida, specifically on the west coast. It's because I'm up north here and we experience the heat of Florida in the summer and the coldness of New England in the winter. I like the west coast more just cause when I was down there it seemed to be nicer than the east coast, and it has a lot less old people. ;)

And Pokemon Kid, I don't think xerai was trying to attack you so there's no need to get riled up. I see that you do make some decent points in your argument but unfortunately what seems right isn't always how it is/should be. I don't want to argue here as this topic is a very interesting one, so if you'd like to talk you can feel free to PM me. (I used to play pokemon...maybe we'd have something else in common to talk about)

Actually, that translates to "Tokyo, day", but that's not the point. ;P

I have a lot of places that I wouldn't mind moving to. Japan {Tokyo or Osaka {or even the small prefecture my mother lived in for a while when she was younger}}. Sweden, England, Holland, A small European village with very few people in it {near a large city, of course} or maybe New York City.

I want to live in Japan for at least 2 years of my life. I'm also hoping to retire to Italy when I get older. I wanted to do an exchange program in either Holland, Switzerland, Czechoslovakia, Czech Republic, or any country in Europe similar to that :P I want to live in too many places ;_;
