Is looking way too skinny and is acting so tired and lazy.
What is happening to him?
We are all sad. We are all wondering what is wrong.

We are trying to get him to eat more because he is so skinny.
I checked the width of him with my hands.
About 4 inches or so.....

Ok, Adam honey listen to me very very carefully.

You need to take this dog to the vet. If you are that concerned and he is that skinny and not eating he could have a blockage. Write down everything you've given him since he's been like this that you can remember. And I mean table scraps, regular food, everything. That is going to help the vet determine what's wrong. Animals are like humans. When they are sick they need to go to the doctor. So you need to take him there.

*hugs you tightly* I'll be keeping your puppy in my thoughts and light a candle for him tonight ok? Energies coming your way!

That is not his problem.
He's eating fine.
He is a 9 year old dog.
And for St. Bernard's the average age is 7-9 years to live up to.
What are some foods we can buy to fatten him up?

Take him to the vet.
VEE EEE TEE

VET

You should NEVER fatten up a old dog. EVER.
Take him to the vet, and get the vets opinion.
The VET. Who is trained to talk about dogs, and dogs health, and dogs food and what is best to feed him.

I'll second this in SPADES. Adam, you need to take this dog to the vet.

The vet is too expensive.
One time this same dog was really sick.
The vet wanted us to pay $2500 dollars for surgery.
We didn't go to the vet and he got better very quickly.

Well either go to the vet or watch your dog die. Your choice.

I am trying to get my parents to take him to the vet.
They wont.
I'm on the same side as everyone here.

In my opinion, and it's a bit harsh, but if you can't afford the vet bills, don't have the pet.

Sounds to me like you need a new vet. There's many resources on the internet that list vets...try a different one. Because honestly, if your dog cannot be saved and is dying, he's probably in quite a bit of pain, and it's really cruel to just let that happen until they die...

Well Adam...

*shrugs*

If you're not willing to take the dog to the vet, I don't think it's safe for anyone here on PPT to diagnose, online what is wrong with your dog.
Fattening an old dog can give it more problems, because you'd be purposefully trying to add weight onto it. Which can add more fat to it's system, and infact kill it, because you're putting more pressure onto it's heart.

Sorry Adam.

Please remember that we're not doctors (or in this case a vet.) Besides having the dog see the vet, there is not much we can suggest.
