I have to say the title of this topic made me twitch. =P

In general, when I see "sence" or "loose" instead of "lose", "there" instead of "their", etc, I twitch. Then I look to see who wrote it, and if English is likely to be their first language. If not, I'm not as bothered - I know English isn't an easy language to learn, and it is a mistake that makes sense, when you think about it.

(I'm guilty of rewriting sentences to avoid words too. =P)

Ditto on all counts. When I first saw the thread, before even clicking it to see what it was about, my first instinct was the edit the title to it's proper spelling, because it just gets under my skin.

I also hate to see the word "marshmellow". There are no Es in marshmallow. It's a lot less bothersome to see these sorts of misspellings in just random posts, it's when I see professional websites making such mistakes. They spend all this time and (often) money to create these lovely websites, and then make careless misspellings.

1)Sense = Any of the faculties by which stimuli from outside or inside the body are received and felt, as the faculties of hearing, sight, smell, touch, taste, and equilibrium.

2)Sence = isnt in the dictionary o.O

I must admit I sometimes don't know how to spell English words too... When I really don't know I let my Word check it. I'm dutch and want to learn better English, so feel free to correct me if I write something wrong ;)

Its kind of annoying when people spell simple things wrong. Not really that much of a pain though...

Its kind of like chatspeak, except its unintentional most of the time.

I'd rather have spelling mistakes than Chatspeak anyday. Sometimes it just makes me feel all... BLEH, to have to read a million "u"s or "ur"s, "tho"s or an "lol" after every second word.

Bad spelling mistake. Also, there are many words that sound like 'sense' (can't think of proper term) and people are probably mixing them up.

I also use to spell "sense" sence. And "took" toke. And "actually" actally. And "tomorrow" tommorrow or tommorow. And "Wednesday" Wedsday. And I still can't spell definitely (seriously, I have that word copied right now).

I could go on, and English is my first language (can't spell that word either). And people say you should sound words out. Yeah, sound them out while slurring it all together and you have a okay chance at saying the correct word. :x

Qanda... ever since I have seen this thread, I have been spelling things wrong. For example, I wanted to say 'Poor Sunnie' on something, but said, 'Pour Sunnie'. It was quite funny though, because she had melted a short time before.

Bad Qanda! I have made more typos and spelling errors today and yesterday than I have in the past few weeks. :P

I was very confused when I saw the topic title. I thought, "Wait... I thought Qanda was literate!"

I haven't noticed "sence" particularly, but according to my English teacher, at least 7 kids in my 7th grade of fifty-something spell "torture" as "torchure".

Edit--I hate it the most when people use apostrophes in plurals, such as "burrito's".
