Two years ago, I met someone on Neopets, Christine. We were great friends, and we chatted pretty much every day.

Recently, however, I didn't chat very often with my friends from Neopets, as I didn't like to talk about Neopets that much. As time went on, I talked to Christine less and less.

Today I found out from a mutual friend that Christine had a heart attack and died.

Now I'm feeling very depressed and I start crying at the most random times. I don't know what's wrong with me; when others in my family died, I didn't cry this much.

Anyone want to try to help me get over it?

I'm sorry to hear that. A very large portion of my family died during my lifetime, so i know how you feel.

The best you can do is try to live your life normally (as in, don't go into a deep depression and not care about school or your job or so on), and try to remember the happy times. You should try to get in contact with her family if you can, just to see if there's anything you can do for them. Sometimes helping others in the same crisis can help alleviate some of the sadness.

I consider myself blessed in that the closest thing I have ever experienced to death is the loss of my school this July. (This was in no way a small tragedy for me, but hey)

In that regard I don't have any specific help in dealing with loss. It seems to me that Christine probably meant a lot more to you than you thought. You should be able to talk to someone who won't judge you about it. I recommend someone like a PPTer or teacher who you know well/are close to.

In the end, though, life goes on, with or without your permission. Keep moving or get trampled.

Aww, I'm so sorry. I knew I would be really sad if that happened to me (especially because I usually get mad at my online friends if they don't email me back =( )

I agree with Discordant, try not to go into a deep depression. Try telling others about your feelings so they can help you. Keeping feelings inside isn't good =(.

A agree with what DiscordantNote has said. Perhaps try to get in contact (and perhaps stay in contact) or get involved with the family to alleviate some of the pain. Deaths are a great loss and often difficult to get over, but as was mentioned, life has to move on at some time. Of course, a time of grieving is expected, but I doubt Christine would want you to be so depressed.
