Kay.

So!

I'm redecorating.

As of yet, this is generally my room:

*Purple walls
*White broadway desk with a white lamp on it in the corner
*Black bulletin board with pictures of friends
*Plaid quilt
*Green sheets
*Blue and orange striped bed skirt
*One green pillow and one red and black checkered body pillow
*My brown dresser sitting next to Ellen's red and white dresser
*Harry Potter poster and Ellen growth chart hidden by my dresser
*Hooks with mounds of jewelry hanging off of them
*White bedside thing hidden behind my desk where you can barely see it
*White shelf close to the ground with Ellen's toys and books stacked all around it
*See-through green curtains tied back and a white blind thing on one window
*White curtains on the other
*Brown...thing...like a giant wooden box? for storage space with stuff piled on top

There is major clash-age and disorganization. I really, really want to redo my room. My mom wants to, too.

I need:

*New curtains
*New quilt and bedskirt
*New wall color
*New decoration type things
*Ideas for storage space
*Possibly a new dresser

So.

Help me out folks.

I've been looking at a lot of stuff at delias.com and I like quite a bit of it. I just don't know what I want.

I also don't know how to do this whole 'organization' thing or ideas for decoration or wall color. Well, wall color I've been thinking about. I might want to do one wall blinding pink or orange and one wall white with handprints or a mural all over it. Like...I could draw on my walls!

So...can you guys help me out? Any and all suggestions are welcome. =D I want to make it look awesome. Links to websites that sell things or just ideas...

My room looks like so:

Yay! Redecorating! I've wanted to redecorate my room for years now, but its such a hassle to move all my stuff (which is lots of heavy wooden furniture) so I can paint my walls.

It'd be more helpful if I could see a pic of what your room looks like, but I'm sure I can use my imagination. :P

I really recommend, seeing as this is your bedroom, that you don't use too bright colours on your walls, bright colours are helpful when you need to think and help stimulate your mind, but seeing as you're going to be sleeping in this room softer colours would probably be better.

Oh! I almost forgot! *slides chair over to bookshelf and gets Feng Shui book off shelf then slides back to desk*

I bought this book when I was in the US last January :P I have a slight obsession with decorating and feng shui and such, though I haven't been able to really put it to good use yet.

Where in your house is your room located? Like, if you drew a square around your property (well, closer to your house if you live on acreage) with your front door being in the South and then divided the square into nine equal pieces, where is your room? (Eg, my room is upstairs in the bottom right square).

You should probably make sure the colours of your room, or at least the area near your bed, are 'safe' colours, like brown, 'majesty' (when you add brown or black to another colour), white, green or gold. But that doesn't mean that the area near your desk can't have bright stimulating colours like yellow, purple, blue, orange, red or black.

Also, try to keep the colours in your room in a 'theme', like, use similar colours, Eg paint two of your walls lime green, one fuschia pink and the remaining wall and roof white, then make your bed spread use similar colours and use the same material or colours in your furniture (Eg, my desk, bookshelf, dresser and bed are all made of pale wood, probably pine).

I don't know where you'd find any of the items you're looking for, I don't visit many furniture stores here (let alone in the US) :P

Well, I hope you managed to see some semblance of advice or help in this giant post, honestly, I think my flu-dulled mind just wanted an excuse to ramble on... :P

Thanks!

My room is...er...well, it's right on the right of the front door. The window is facing the street. Is that what you mean?

Yeah, that's helpful...

*flicks through pages of book until she finds the right section*

Okay, well, seeing as you have your bedroom in the 'Helpful People' section that means that... dreams are very important and the colour silver is very important. So I recommend using silver quite a bit, some examples they have in here are to use a silver sheen in your paint, place silver items on your dresser, keep silver jewellery or have a silver picture frame.

Hmm, well, I just accidentally took a drowsy flu tablet, rather than a non-drowsy one, so I'll be out for a few hours... *yawns*... I hope that helped... :P

Thanks! I do have some silver in my room, and I was thinking about doing a silvery-blue on one wall :]

The amazing Nessa helped me by creating this:

Which is how I think I will organize it, but apparently I'm allowed to move a lot of the baby's stuff into the closet if I move my stuff out of it.
