I have considered a flight from and to London, then getting a train or something. Lubbers the trains. Gateshead/Newcastle (driving wise) is about 8 hours north of London, and being on a train would likely be about half that time (which would be the time I'd have to wait (3 hours) plus the flight (1 and half hour)), so it might be more fun to get on the train instead lol. I don't plan on having many bags as it is, I plan on shipping what little I have there.

Are you talking about our trains here?
Because you dont stand a bat in a snowstorms chance of getting there that fast on one of our trains.

Really now? It wouldn't cut the time roughly in half (driving v. train)? Meh, even if it does take 6 hours, it'd be more enjoyable then back on a plane really. Seeing some views, etc.

Visa thing is confusing me at the moment. Figured I'd apply around March'ish because I'm looking to move out of here end of July. Newcastle/Gateshead because I've got someone there and all this stuff so...lol.

Edit: Another reason I'm leaving is because I've had a few family issues in the past few years, mostly this past year, that I am choosing not to live with anymore. Might be 18, but I can still get education over there, and likely some sort of "foreign" stuff. WOO!

Spells are my thing ;)

we dont have high speed trains or anything here - the country is too small, you'd have to slow down again almost as soon as you got up to speed!!

Ah, well my friend found out for me how long it'll take. Showed me the times and everything, at most it's an 3 and half hour train ride, at least it's 2 hours and 50 minutes.

I was talking with my dad at length about train travel (since he's a pom, and I'm going there by myself for the first time)... and he said that apparently the "main routes" (ie. all of those direct from London) tend to be a lot faster than other, more regional routes (even if they're direct between two big cities).
