Yah, cuz even though you might have to look closer, cows and piggies and chickens and stuff are pretty too! :D They may not be graceful and stuff, but they're ky00t!

I really don't think its nice to eat animals either, cuz, you know.. its living stuff.. and.. then.. you know.. you.. eat it. And thats icky. Atleast to me. Then again, you're talking to an extreme animal-loving veggietarian (yeah I know I spelled it wrong, I meant to).. :O

Though I won't deny, eating horsies is mean. Cause you're right, they are beautiful creatures, but just as beautiful as the rest of the animals. :)

You're one of those vegitarians that eats dairy products made by cows whose calves are stolen immediately after birth? Who wears shoes made of leather that unfortunately doesnt fall off the cows body when they get a massage?

I do believe horse meat is still used in dog food; can't see why it wouldn't be. (May just depend on the brand). You can't legally sell animals for food if they're diseased (injured is one thing, cancerous another) at least not for human consumption, so the meat and product that can be used for something else should be going somewhere.

I've eaten horse. Does this make me barbaric? No. Barbaric is rather derogatory as terms go, and it's part of the savage/barbaric/civillized group of anthropological terms and theories that are now considered outdated. I see no real problem with eating a horse. I had it once, it was... meh. Tasted a bit like rather tough beef, with a flavor shift towards something more like venison, and it wasn't really that great. But perhaps thats just how it was prepared. *shrug*

I don't support taking calves from moms at all. I admit I do eat cheese and yogurt, but thats about it. I drink soy milk, and I take extra caution to not wear leather. Ask my mom, it drives her up the wall looking for shoes.

That's exactly what I think. Go enjoy your veggie burger, I'm not going to stop you or even comment on it because that's your own decision, and I will respect you for it. But don't get on me for eating what I was pretty much born to eat.

Though I agree with the "why can you eat chickens and not horses?" arguement, though, because just because something is "pretty" doesn't put it above things that are not.

Woah, hold on there a minute, Fidds. I didn't say anything that implied I freaked out when someone ate a hamburger. I eat chicken a lot and sometimes beef and very occasionally lamb. I eat sausage and bacon too. I was saying that it was wrong for it to be okay to see some animals as just food and not others. No animal is solely MEANT to be eaten. They have lives other than being meat and stuff. But I see no problem with eating animals as long as a person sees them as an actual animal and not just a foodstuff.

I have a crayfish for a pet, and I would never eat her, but I looooove eating her cousins! I've had rabbit before, I think it tasted like chicken. I would never eat horse meat, just because to me, they've always been companions. It would be hard now to start saying that some are companions, and some are for food, like I do with cattle, lamb, etc.

The biggest problem I have with people eating horse meat, is that most of the horses in the US that get killed, were someone's pet at some point, and that's wrong. With all other animals, we raise two groups: pets, and for consumption. If we're going to eat horses, we should do that too. NOT THAT I'M APPROVING THIS. I think it's horrible to eat horse, but if people are going to, do it right. No one sneaks in to your farm in the middle of the night, and steals your bunny, and sells him in an auction in the next state the next day, why do it with horses?

Although, I do eat meat, I don't find it right to take a calf away from it mother. I also drink milk, and I wear shoes made of man-made leather.

I could never eat a horse though. I live too close to them.

Call me oblivious or blind, but I've never heard of anyone eating a horse before. Am I missing something?. Now deer, which I have eaten, or other types of hooved animals are one thing. Strange. Not to sound rude, but are there particular countries that do this?. To avoid participating in the argument or topic, I believe what someone said when stating we're at the top of the food chain. It's sad, but I don't think I myself would keel over just because Bambi in the corner is too cute to resist. Hm though, horse meat. That's slightly disturbing giving the fact the beauty of such a creature would be, crudely put, served on a platter. Strangest thing I've eaten was eel, which isn't that strange at all- atleast not to me.

Image How come in the TCG: Darkest Faerie edition there's a Yellow Gallion, but no such option to paint your Gallion this colour exists?.
