Another thing I remember of old PPT was that Normal users used to be able to join in the fun at Halloween and Christmas by changing their displayed usernames to fit the Halloween and Christmas theme which is what the PPT Mods and PPT Admin do every year here anyway.
On our last database we had a who are you were previously info list on everyone who was on the PPT forum at that time.
These days though in order to change your name you have to PM a Super Moderator or Administrator to change it.
Also many of the staff here are against name changing as it was pretty much hassling trying to track people down, especially when they pull a name switch with someone else or if they change it radically.
There was one situation where one of our Mods almost kicked people out of the Guys usergroup in confusion because of people switching identities.
Also it was possible for someone innocent to a get a strike because of people switching identities. (E.g. CCC and ASP Identdy Crisis week.)
Personally I am not bothered that is gone and the only time I really miss it is at Halloween and Christmas which is when I think about of all the normal users that used to be able to join in the festive cheer with their Spooky and Christmasy names on our old database.
