Bank now issusing vredit cards to pets now.

SYDNEY, Jan 4 (Reuters Life!) - An Australian bank has apologized for issuing a credit card to a cat after its owner decided to test the bank's identity security system.

The Bank of Queensland issued a credit card to Messiah the cat when his owner Katherine Campbell applied for a secondary card on her account under its name.

"I just couldn't believe it. People need to be aware of this and banks need to have better security," Campbell told local media on Thursday.

The bank said the cat's card had been canceled. "We apologize as this should not have happened," it said in a statement.

I laughed when I read this, though it is worrying that it could happen.

Hahaha, that's ridiculous! Imagine the credit score that cat would have if she kept the card and had good credit though? A cat with a credit score of 800.. oh the silliness :P

What was the name on the card? That could do well on eBay.

Hmm... maybe my cat, Pumpkin Oliver Piggles, would like to have a card of his own... there'd be a lot of charges for chicken and toy mice. That's so funny.

If this isn't life imitating art, Santos L Halper will have something to say about it :P (Twenty bucks says that Keith would make the same reference if this makes Oddball).

I think I read about a dog getting a credit card one time. And a two year old. And the signature was even in crayon.

That one made me laugh. XD But since when can two-year-olds sign their names? Must've been some kind of prodigy. Maybe s/he made a super-successful investment and is now living in a mansion filled with toys. :P

I think it's just easier and cheaper to hand out the credit card than doing all kinds of research on the applicant. It doesn't say what kind of credit card it was. Maybe they can't charge more than, say 100 bucks or something, unless you put in more yourself. Finding out the financial background of someone to see wether they check out allright might cost more than 100 bucks.

Besides, it's plain obvious cats and babies can't fill in a form, I don't think banks will need a task force that checks whether applicant "Bobby Cat" is a human or a cat

You know, my dog gets postcards from a school for diadvantage children... we've thought about trying to enroll her just to see what happens. The funny thing is they're addressed to "Chelsen". My dog's name is Chelsea, and my name is Kristen, so somehow they got us combined.

When my brother was two, a telemarketer called and asked to speak to him, the conversation went something like this:

Telemarketer: Hello this is so and so from such and such, may I speak to Collin Coach?

Mom: Um, I guess.. are you sure you want to talk to him... hes two.

Telemarketer: ....no that won't be necessary thank you.
