Have you tried posining the thing, rat poisen should work against a vole. It isn't good to have wild animals running about in your room, they carry fleas and lice which can carry diseases, so be weary. It mite just be wise to let your cat have its way with the vole, thats the sole reson I have cats is to kill mice.

They look more like rabbits crossed with guinea pigs to me. Either way, they're rodents.

Well thats new, we don't have voles in New Zealand, only rats and mice. My previous house had a foot-long rat that used to run across the top og the fences, a hedgehog that ate catffod, and a blackbird that ate catfood. My cat I believe was quit terryfied of the footlong rat (I would be too If I had ever seen it, I have to rely on my mother and brothers testimony).

I'm sure there is some sort of special vole poison.

When there was a vole problem in my yard, my rabbit kinda got the vole before we could. If you don't want it getting hurt, I think the best think would be to try the bucket thing.

Your rabbit got the vole? o_O

Heh. Let's just say that Mr. Vole got a bit too close to my bunny when she was in a bad mood and was barely distinguishable as something that was once living when we found it.

Well, the bucket trap didn't work. And I couldn't find the high pitch things we have at home. BUT we bought two from Wal-Mart, and they seem to work. They don't affect my cats at all, and what's great is they also make most bugs and spiders go away! I hate bugs. Ugh. I didn't want to kill it, so that's why I ignored most of the advice here. I mean... I'm the kind of person who likes rodents as pets, so it seems a little evil killing any other rodents.
