So.. I love cooking BUT! I don't cook very well. It's not a good combination really :P heh
So I thought this would be a nice thread to just share recipes (main dishes, desserts, whatever) with eachother than we know are good.
Maybe explain what the end results are supposed to be like as well so we know what to expect.

Since I don't have any of my own (original).. I'll just post a link to the ones that I've enjoyed. :battar:

Creamy Pesto Shrimp
http://pasta.allrecipes.com/az/CreamyPestoShrimp.asp

I just made this one tonight. And it's REALLY good if you enjoy rich creamy sauces. I did use more pesto than it asked for b/c well.. I have no idea what pesto is and just got this powder pesto stuff and blah blah blah :P lol It's really good though and it makes a ton.

Japanese Chicken Wings
http://chicken.allrecipes.com/az/JpnsChicknWings.asp

SOOOO yummy and very tasty. It's tangy with that kick of vinegar. I would suggest using a little less sugar though b/c it is very sweet. Also the end result can be a bit watery.. so maybe adding a bit of flour or cornstarch to it to thicken it up a bit would be a good way to go.

Food! My favorite subject. :D
While I dig around for some of my favorite recipes, let me suggest that we get some regional dishes posted. I think it'd be so cool to try out foods from different countries!

FOOD! I love food <3

I found a whole bunch of recipes from my native country.

Dominican Cooking

*drools* There's some really good stuff there *points to desserts* Flan and Quesillo rule the world.

Mangu

The picture doesn't make it look too appetizing, but it's awesome. You can eat with with any type of meat or melt cheese over it. I eat it practically every other day :D Makes a very good (and easy) breakfast. I don't add onions or vinegar. I also just cut the plantain into four big pieces and boil it. Then I peel it afterwards. It's way easier and safer.

That chicken sounds so good, and I'll have to try that sandwich, Christopher. :P

I used to call this "Eggbread". I have no idea what name I should give it, so "Eggbread" it is.

You need:
1 egg
Sugar
Bread

Method:
-beat egg with sugar (add as much as you like for the taste. I personally will add 1-2 teaspoon. up to you.) In the mean time, put your bread in the toaster. Feel free to cut it up into smaller pieces. Don't make it too burnt. ^^
-Wait for bread to be toasted if not yet.
-Heat up frying pan and add oil.
-dip bread in the egg and sugar mix. Be sure to cover all the bread and put the dipped piece into the hot frying pan. Turn the heat to middle/low. Once you put it in, DON'T remove it because the egg will turn out yucky.
-continue dipping with how many bread pieces you have.
-Wait until it's ready to flip over.
-Flip over.
-Wait until fully cooked (raw eggs are a no-no. Causes this disease starting with the letter "S" that I have forgotten the name of. Salmonania...naw, but something like it. Will cause the memory loss thing when you're older.)
-Serve and eat. :D

Uhh...spicy icecream?

Yeah..

Take icecream out of freezer, let icecream thaw till semi-solid/semi-liquid. Usually wait about five-ten minutes, maybe less or more according to room temperature.

Take out bottle of tabasco, or another thin hot sauce, place two tea spoons (to one serving) or more according to personal preference , mix with spoon till tabasco thoroughly mixed. Place back in freezer and wait to icecream is frozen equal to original state.

Serve.

i make fantastic salads...but I cant really tell you how to make it.

Ducky's Fantastic Sugar Cookies
What you need:
1 egg
1/2 cup (1 stick) of margarine; melted and cooled (very important step. otherwise the butter will not blend well and it will leave butter chunks in the batter)
1 cup of sugar
1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
2 tablespoons of milk
1 teaspoon of lemon juice
2 cups sifted all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder.

How to:
set oven to 400 degrees (f)
combine egg, butter, sugar, cinnamon, milk and lemon juice in a large bowl. beat w. eggbeater until creamy.
place flour and baking powder together in a second smaller bowl
while beating the contents of the larger bowl, slowly add the flour & powder into the large bowl
Mix until creamy
drop the batter by the teaspoon (a regular sized spoon) onto a cookie sheet (you do not need to spray the pan)
bake 8-10 minutes (or longer if needed)

Other:
feel free to add sugar to the top of the cookies. Sprinkles work too. Most toppings can be baked into the cookie while its in the oven. For christmas i usually take food colouring and make my cookies red and green.

they're really good and taste alot different then a usual sugar cookie. My family loves them!

I have it! I'm still so delighted by it, haha. Thanks for the recipe, Hellyer.

Ingredients:
2 pastry sheets
6 rashers of bacon
6 eggs
salt
pepper
1 cup cream
chopped parsley (about 2 tbs)
ground nutmeg

Instructions (as written by my mom):
Line large flan dish with 1 pastry sheet/ spread diced bacon rashers evenly over pastry. Break 5 eggs gently onto the bacon so that all 5 evenly spread. Mix salt, pepper, nutmeg, chopped parsley and cream together, pour carefully over eggs. Cover with 2nd pastry sheet and brush with a beaten egg. Make 5-6 incisions in top. Bake in preheated moderate oven (180°C) for about 1 hour (till top is golden).

Er, ask Hellyer if you have questions. He typed that up for me.

Oooh! I have a really great crepe recipe! Lemme find it....

It's doubled, to make wnough for my French class, so you might want to cut it in half.

1 tblspn vanilla
2 tblspn melted butter
1 1/2 cup flour
2 tblspn sugar
2 cup milk

Mix all of the above pretty well, and then put it in a blender to get rid of all the bumps. Then use cook using either a frying pan or crepe maker(much easier).
Pan: Turn burner to medium/medium low. When pan is warm use butter or grease of choice to grease the pan. Pour small amount of batter in pan, tilt to cover entire bottom. When the edges are brown, go around edges with a spatula to loosen them, flip it onto a plate. If you're really adventurous, you can try to flip it like a pancake.
Crepe maker: Pour batter into a big plate or pie plate. Warm maker, grease it, and dip. Follow instructions above.

Should be a really thin, light pancake. Serve with any kind of puddings, fruit, etc. Or savory with ham and cheese, etc. (Nutella's really good)

It's a smart duck....watch it do math..........o.0
