I'm sorry - it's hard to lose a pet, and one that's been around for 10 years is even harder because of the familiarity you build up - part of the reason people get so depressed when a loved one dies is because of that empty space.

It's true, at least he died peacefully. You had the chance to know him his whole life - take that as the blessing it is.

I am sorry Adam, I know how it feels :( Some say it's worse to loose a human, for some that might be correct, but for me it's really the same thing when I loose a pet.

*hugs* I'm sorry Adam. I guess there's just a big empty space there, huh? Don't worry. He's in a good place now, and didn't die in pain. :)

*huggles* I know how you feel. ):

I used to have three dogs. DOG, Zena, and Kaya. Zena was the oldest, and Kaya was still a puppy. I walked in one day and found Kaya on the floor in shock, and Zena standing over her nipping at her. The kitchen (where I found the two) wasn't something anyone would like to look at. I was so scared I didn't know what to do, I called my parents, we took Kaya to the vet and I locked Zena in my parents room. The doctor tried everything she could, but Kaya had to be put down. Zena had torn a little hole into her throat. When we got home, we had to put Zena down too. ;_; She was the one I grew up with. She was my dog. And because of that, I was the only one to be in the room with the doctors when they gave her the euthenasia. I couldn't help but start to bawl again....

A couple weeks later my parents got a new dog, and his name is Baxter. He's a lab/dalmation mix. I swear that both Zena and Kaya were reincarnated into him somehow >_>

But anyway, I feel for ya. Everything will be ok. *huggleses*

My sympathies...It's always terrible losing a pet like that. Well, at least he lived a good life.

*hugs you tightly* Lemme show you something...

Quote:
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.

All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.

You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.

Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

*hugs you tightly* You know you can talk to me Adam :)

:( I know how you feel, my dog died a year or two ago. It was really hard. He was 14 and I had had him since I was born. He was deaf and hie eye site wasn't good so we had no choice but to put him down. I cried a lot that week and still do if something reminds me of him(I was watching this T.V. show and it reminded me of him... )At least he went peacfully and didn't suffer any pain. Rember he is in a better place. Also, don't be ashamed to let your emotions fly, if you cry it is ok. People understand , don't be embarrased. It is really hard the first week, the second wekk is a bit better, ans so on. You never stop loving him, but you find it easyer to remeber him in a happy way and not in a sad way as time goes on.
