Wow, that's weird. I mean, it's October so it just seems totally unreal to me. And I'm sure it would be the same to them if they had no idea that our new year started in January. Makes me kind of sad actually, because I don't think a lot of people would know it is the Jewish New Year, and I didn't either. To be honest, I don't really know a lot about other religions and countries traditions.

Yikes. I've rambled. Happy New Year ;)

I live in Israel where the Jewish New Year is a big deal... Although everyone knows the christian ( is it? ) new year aswell. Heck, it's even celebrated here.
Rosh Hashana is more like a holiday, here there's no school, family evening meals, major country traffic hehe.

Anyhow happy Rosh Hashana to everyone...

Oh and fzun it's שנה טובה! ;)

Oh yeah. That's why I'm supposedly on holiday right now (despite the fact that I work every day of it).

Happy new year!

Different culture exist and they all have different ways of measuring time. Please show some respect.

I wished them Happy New Year? ;)

And yeah, I know that different cultures exist and have different ways of doing a lot of things. I never said otherwise. What I don't get is why they just can't accept the standard used by a very large portion of the (economically important) world.

It's not economically important if they celebrate New Years Day in October or January, is it?

And you know, Religion is strong in people, it's what keeps them going. Killing their beliefs and traditions for an economical important state is just stupid.

Happy New Year, dang sheeb.

What's economically important about January 1st being New year, then?

Damn Jews. Why can't Chanukah be just one day on December 25th? Huh? :P

Happy Rosh Hashanah. I saw that today, it was marked on my calander. I have a few Jewish friends, so they must have put it there. Anyway, have a good one :)
