If I did a series of posts explaining the different aspects of coin collecting? Like determining values for a specific coin, what kind of coins to collect, how to grade them, etc. You, too, could also explain your hobby, what's it about, etc. I know, some of you may think i'm a geek for paying $50 for a piece of metal two-hundered years old, but....I could explain why some people do this and why coin collecting is so great.

Thats a real snaggle-toothed needlepoint jalopeno! A truly strawberried television!

I collect the 50 States quarters, does that count? I know it's not all that hard-core, but it's something.

Oh! Me too! My cousin actually just bought me one of those boards where you can put all of the quarters as you collect them :oops: I feel like such a dork admitting that, haha. But it's rather fun putting all the quarters in. Plus in the end you have a little over $12 in case of emergencies.
Anyhow, along with the subject, I read a book about coin collecting when I was in 6th grade. I don't remember much about it, probably because it was for a book report and I didn't know anything about collecting coins anyway, which leads to the next point....
If there are a few people here who collect coins, they might be interested in you sharing your knowledge.

I actually don't keep my quarters on a map, instead I keep them in this snazzy folder-thing that lets you keep them in the order they were released. I kinda like it better than the map, actually.

I've got one of those nifty little state quarter books (12 bucks for some coin holders), but I seem be missing an entire year. XD

I'd be quite interested to read what you have to say, Kame... err, Hame... err... Ha. You really can't abbreviate your name, you know.

My mother has that thing. ;P She was quite obsessive about it when the quarters first came out. She wanted to have every state from each othe mints. >.<
I was at work the day after the Texas quarters were released. A woman saw me open a roll of quarters that had quite a few of them. She started jumping up and down, begging me to break a twenty, and give her all of them. It was insane.

Ack!! You wouldn't still happen to have any more Texas ones, would you? I'm missing Texas and Pennsylvania. :oops:

I collect coins too but I never buy them. Everytime we come back from a vacation, I just throw all the left over coins into a box. I have coins from several country.

Maybe we can send each other coins of our country. :D

I collect coins. (Pfft...am not a geek! XD) It's so hard in keeping them in good condition though. I'd like a post on that. :) I would watch those shows that come on at random times, but they're so boring. >_>;;

Image Thanksies Dawn, sorry I didn't see it before. ^___^
