The Indoor Volleyball game between the US and the Dominican Republic was soooooo close. One of the announcers mentioned that USA was 1st in the world going into the Olympics, and the Dominican Republic was 13th, yet they managed to win the match. The two teams kept tying the game -- I do admit that I was standing up and going crazy the last few minutes of the game.

Eek. We were on silver in three day eventing, there was a german appeal and we're back to team bronze.
The German captain won individual gold and we got an individual silver.... hmmm...drama indeed...

When Paul Hamm fell when he did his landing for the vault, I felt so bad for him. The judge even had to stop his fall before he tumbled over the table.

He won the gold, though. The Hamm brothers are my favorite atheletes from USA.

And they're adorable, too. :D

I felt so bad for him as well. I get WAY to into these Olympics.. I started yelling at the tv when he fell.. and whenever the Chinese or Korean or whoever else came up I did my little "voodoo, bad vibes, hope you fall on your butt, or take a big step, wiggle at the tv fingers" at them in hopes that they would mess up :P rofl
I know it's not live when they show it (since I already knew Hamm won Gold) but that fact always escapes me when I'm watching it heh.

The Wellington Newspaper today has such articles as 'where are our medals?' XD

New Zealand is not doing very well...

Great britain isn't doing so great but we're definitely picking up.
A lot of our sailers are doing well, as are our rowers. We're guaranteed a silver AT WORST in mixed doubles badminton.

Wow, the equestrianism last night. What a farce.

The German's were on team gold. Then they got 12 penalty points because Bettina Hoy crossed a start line twice.
So Britain became silver, France gold, and USA bronze.
The Germans appealed and got the penalties taken off again. This meant that Bettina Hoy eventually won inidividual gold as well as Germany's team gold. Britian's Leslie Law got individual silver.
Meh...I don't know why the appeal worked. She broke the rules.

It's a good thing that I didn't check the newsfeeds last night, as I got to be shocked by the full force of Hamm winning gold. That was incredible.

Hoping the 'counter appeal' or whatever gets through in the equestrianism. Am disgruntled.
Badminton final today ^_^ Nathan Robertson and Gail Emms actually have a decent shot

I just saw it. Poor Gail, she gave the Chinease their gold medal point. But we still got the silver medel, our first ever Badmington medal.

I felt bad for the Korean man that got silver. He was crying when they announced Paul Hamm's score.

One of the Chinese women fell off of the uneven bars and landed on her head. The poor thing.

Gymnastics doesn't look very safe to me. I wince whenever someone falls off.

Also, I can't watch cycling without screaming into the TV to the cyclists that they're going to fall off if they're riding with their bums off the seat. The bike always looks like its going to tip over when they do that.

I wince when the men are on the parallel bars. Everytime they land on their armpits. >.<

Gymnastics is, by far, my favorite. ^^ I am really afraid of even doing a somersault nowadays or even going upside-down in the pool. So what they do is mind-boggling to me.

Was anyone else shocked at how insanely high Paul's voice was when he spoke? I nearly had a heart attack.

This is Paul: http://www.olympic-usa.org/26_941.htm
