It is. It's your zodiac year! It's supposed to be extra lucky and what not.

It means that I know what your age is this year :P or approximate.

Of course, even though you're born in the year of the rooster, but different years you have different luck and there is no definite good/bad luck. Some zodiacs may have more good luck this year and some may have more bad luck, it varies over years. I'm no teller of this kind of thing so I'm not quite sure. :)

Happy CNY everyone :D

They say being born at the beginning of the year of the dragon is extra good luck.

:o Really? I've never heard of it :P I was born at the tail of the year of the dragon :D I like the dragon. :D

But the rat still comes first, no? I wish there was a year of the cat. :D

Anyone who was born in 1989 after CNY is in the year of the snake (I think it's after Feb or something.)

Ah, the Chinese lunar calendar. So confusing. :P A few years ago there were two Mays (well, not really May, but rather the fifth month was doubled for some reason), and the new year sometimes comes in January.

Gung hay fat choi, gung xi fa chai, and shi nian quai le everyone. (I don't know enough Mandarin to know if the last two were right or not. XD)

I'm in the Year of the Monkey and that was......last year? I think. *not sure*

And the parade is two weeks later...:/ (Well...the one where I live is).

*throws fireworks*

No confetti. :(

Xin nian kuai le, gong xi fa cai, shen ti jian kang, wan shi ru yi, shenmeshenme chang shou, chu ru ping an, xin xiang shi cheng, bu bu sheng gao, xue xi jin bu -- can't remember any more.

Translated: happy new year, get lots of money, stay healthy, actually not sure what this is but I think success without obstacles?, somethingsomething long life (evidently didn't remember the first two words), stay safe, success in all you do, get promoted, improve your studies. Oh, and happy marriages to everyone but I don't know that one. :D
