Guys, some people sleep for 12 hours and are up for 12 hours. Just because it doesn't seem like a big deal to you, it could very well be a big deal for them.

It's quite unhealthy to sleep for that long unless you are really young (like below 7 years old).

Actually it is a provent fact that teenagers should be sleeping for longer than 9 hours because it gives the body more time to grow and the brain more time to rest and develop.

And I eventually fell asleep at 6:00 this morning with my cat.

I love the phrase 'actually, it's a proven fact...' followed by 'should be'.

12 hours is too long.

Yeah...10 is more than enough, but is what I usually get. Then again, I have an odd sleeping pattern....once I stayed awake for 61 hours, but I slept like a baby after that. :P

Not sure where it is proven, but sleeping for that long would give me the shudders. I do so dislike wasting time being unconscious. :P

Sleeping at 6am is indeed too late though... now that is a problem. I hope the tips listed here helped. Though my philosophy is that if you absolutely can't sleep, go do something else. At least you won't be wasting your time shifitng and turning on the bed, and you'll probably get sleepier faster if you do something mentally exhausting.

Over the last 4 days I've had about 12 hours sleep in total. Urghhh.

I've suffered from mild insomnia since I was a little kid. It's because I worry so much. Six hours of sleep to me sounds like... I don't know, a very long time. I eventually learned to cope with the fact that, I just can't sleep. Hahah. I get a routine down, and stick to it. I'm still healthy, and probably could sleep earlier if I wished, but I just don't like it.

I usually get about 4 hours of sleep.

Sometimes you just can't sleep, that's understandable.

Yes... Very much so

If I go to bed around 5, or 6, I wake up at 9:30 EXACTLY, no alarm or anything, but if I go to bed before, I sleep for hours... I have the same problem, of not being able to go to sleep for so long... It's horrible... It's one thing to stay up so late by choice, it's another thing to do it against your will...

Woah...really? They say that if you stay up for 78 hours you go crazy. I mean I actually read that somewhere scientific, its not just some rumour. If only I could remember where I read it...

Ehh, me, I usually get five hours of sleep - only because I don't want to be totally asleep at school - but this summer I shall try to break your records!

I read somewhere else scientific that if you stay awake for two weeks, you die.

Which is pretty cool.

Heh... well, it depends on the person how insane you get. Stay awake for two-three days and everything starts to taste bad and you might get dizzy... if you're with other people, you'll become really hostile and start thinking they're poisoning you.

Anyhoo, I guess you're one of those people who actually sleeps when they don't HAVE to. Me... well, I once stayed up til 4 AM roleplaying, and I only logged off then because everyone else in the dream left Furcadia e.e And then I read Animal Farm (again) or something. So... yeah. If I had a choice, I think I'd be nocturnal. That would be awesome.

Stare into a very bright light until your eyes are too sore to open. You'll be in La-La-Land eventually. Or just in the ER. Either way's good.

Yes really. Hm.
It wasn't intentional; I just had a lot of things on.

And I'm not that crazy really. I mean, I'm a little bizarre but I function.

Yeah, 15 hours isn't really that long. I've been awake for over 24 hours before. Anyway, I tend to have my ceiling fan blowing and the cold air along with the low drone it makes sends me to sleep. If you've not got one of those then I think you should consider one for the future if this sleeping problem you seem have persists.
