I either use backspace to correct spelling and/or grammar, or press enter and correct it by following the message with another that says

I use it. Problem is, I don't usually see it until after I've hit enter.

EDIT: Like right now, I didn't notice I left the "l" off "until" until after I clicked Submit.

I seem to be the only one but I rarely bother. usually it's clear enough that people can tell what it is anyways. and if it's that unclear, ill write the correction in the next line. It'd take forever if I was always correcting myself.

Definitely. I ALWAYS know when I make errors, even if I'm looking the other way.

Which is why I only got 30 WPM on my first Mavis Beacon typing test, because they don't let you use the backspace key on it. ><

I called Cae 'Car' three extra times by using an asterik to correct myself. Look, I even have that saved-

I am the typo queen. I never use backspace because I'm too lazy, and never am quite able to correct things with asteriks the right way. Do I get points for trying, though?

Of course I backspace. It never occured to me not to use it in messengers xP Backspace is part of my typing. I can hit it in 0.5 seconds and never register in my mind that I even used it >:]

If i notice a mistake, i'll use it. i usually do. it really annoys me when other people use such blatent mispellings.

I think I tried to type the correction 4 times once before I got it right.

Backspace is just second nature to me now. I'm a fast typer (though my friend still has a sulk when I'm typing something long, 'cause he actually has to *gasp* wait!).
