when I'm just using the mouse, my thumb is below the back button on the side, my first finger is on the left button, my middle finger is on the second, my third is on the forward button on the other side of the mouse, and my pinky finger just kind of hangs out.

now's where it gets complicated, heh.

when I use the back button, my thumb goes up to that button, of course.

when I'm doing some mild scrolling such as when I'm reading, I move my hand so my middle finger is on the scroller and my third finger is on ther right click button. if I'm doing some serious scrolling, ie to the bottom of a page, I use my first finger and shift my whole hand over to the right.

detailed, no?

heh, that was fun.

I always have my pointer finger on the left mouse button and my middle finger on the right mouse button.

As for the scrolly wheely thingy, I often alternate between using my pointer finger and my middle finger without thinking.

Index on left, middle on scroll, ring on right.

Although I'm left-handed, I can't adjust myself to using a mouse with my left hand (and reassigning the buttons accordingly, of course). Tried it before...but it was kinda uncomfortable. Couldn't draw on Photoshop with it like that, either.

I keep my middle finger on the right mouse button at all times, and switch my pointer finger back and forth between the left button and th scroll wheel.
It feels really uncomfortable to try it any other way.

I do it the same way as you do. :)

Wow, thought more people did it like that. x_x *tries the pointer-middle-ring way*

*sigh* I was going to be lazy and leave that post the way it was, but after looking, I use my index finger for the left mouse and scroll wheel, and I have my middle and ring finger both on the right mouse button, and I just use one of them without thinking. Can't say which one I usually use as I can't do it while I'm thinking about it. x_x Gah... Look what you've started! :P

As I browsed through webpages, I just became aware that I sometimes click the left mouse button with my index finger, middle finger, or both O_O.

I have a laptop that has this little round thing in the middle of the keyboard... My right middle finger is on it, and my thumb on the button at the bottem that is a clicker.

Thumb is on the left side of the mouse. Pointer finger is on the left mouse button. Middle finger is on the scroll wheel thing. The finger next to my pinky, whatever it's called is on the right mouse button. Then my pinky on the right side of the mouse.

I use my pointer finger for the left button and scroll, and middle finger for right button. It feels way too crowded to use 3 fingers...

Pointer finger is used for left clicking and scrolling, and middle finger is for right clicking. :P

I use touchpad. I use my forefinger to control the cursor and my thumb to click.

That way exactly. I also hold the respective sides of the mouse with my thumb and pinky.
