Also try asking for a 'permanent' retainer. I have one for my lower set of teeth. It's basically a wire that is glued to the back of your teeth. It's not very bothersome, and it keeps you from lugging two retainers around.

yay! i can eat solids now! i've gotten better at puting and taking out my rubber bands.. but noe my life hurts as bad as my teeth did two days ago....
