Haha, that's mostly true for me too. Or a "can of (brand name)"

Pfft, like real people? I have never seen someone where I live call pop/coke soda. At least, if I did, I didn't pay any attention.

As for me, I call it both pop and coke. So, I'm in the middle.

A carbonated beverage. Or whatever the brand is.

It is a very regional thing. In the city I grew up in, it was definitely "pop". Where I am now though, I would definitely be made fun of for saying "pop". I decided in high school to say "soda" so that people wouldn't know where I was from, since I don't really have much of an accent from my area, unlike other people I know.

Live in western PA, so I call it pop. Used to live it eastern PA, and called it soda. And what's really funny is that some people in eastern PA don't know what the heck 'pop' is. XD

Even though everything else is right, I correct people when they don't say pop. That's how passionate I am.

Although I will refer to Mexican soda as "Jarritos", which I highly suggest you try.

Usually soda, or the brand name. I do usually refer to all cola as coke, though. I have the odd habit of calling it pop whenever I'm around my dad's family, too.

that's not a very nice description of the names, as if everyone should use soda and if you don't, you fail. anyway, nobody in canada says soda. we all say pop

If it's Sprite, I call it Sprite.
If it's Coke, I call it Coke.

O.o; whee?

I have yet to meet a native born Canadian who says "soda". It's pop, plain and simple.

Although I rarely drink it anymore, it's pop to me and most everyone around here.

Pop? Yes pop. Looks like the majority of people in BC say pop too.
