I do a little of both, though I mainly look at the keyboard, 1/5th of the time I spend typing I look at the screen checking for errors while I type new stuff. I can do either although I do type faster when I'm looking at the keyboard.

I'm one of the fastest typers in my year, I type about 60 words per minute.

Well I've had a computer for five years...I can definately touch-type pretty fast.

Though I have to look for certain keys. z and [ for example

I type without placing my habds properly on the keyboard and I sometimes look and sometimes I don't look. I can type faster them my mom who has been a secretary. I've actually raced my mom and won :P i guess you just get used to the way that you type.

I, sadly, hunt and peck. Anytime I try to touch type, I mess up horribly, or something doesn't get capitilized, or something.

Also, I never really found the home keys useful. It slowed me down when I first learned. Now I type 56 WPM, and don't even us them. :)

I can touch type quickly and correctly. Go me!

i hate touch typing. that and i'm really bad at it. I am really what you would call a hunt and peck person either. I have my own style thing going on. I think abouyt what I wanna say and then while i'm looking at the keyboard (not looking between comp and keyboard) I type what i want to say, uber fast (okay so it's like 40 WPM. but still).

I'm a touch typer. I had to use a laptop for two years at school in every single class, so I got great at it.

It's hilarious when I'm at school, typing up stuff from my notes, because I'll just be staring directly at my notes, and not even looking at the screen - and typing insanely fast. It freaks out the kids in the year level below me :D

I touch-type, been doing so since...forever? I grew up with an accountant who can fly across the keys with hardly any mistakes, so it's a kind of drilled in habit. ;) I still make the odd typo, though, but I usually wait until I'm finished typing before I go back and fix them up.

Same. ^^ Except, I freak out people in the same year as me.

Touch-type. I used to look at the keyboard, and I have no idea when I stopped doing so. oO

(Actually, I just realized that I don't anymore. Which, yes, is weird...)

I learned how to properly type once in school, but I hated it so I guess I do more of the second, whatever you call it, one. I look at my keyboard when I type and I only used two fingers. Oddly enough I used my index finger on my left hand and my middle finger on my right. Don't ask, I have no idea why myself.

Oog, I discovered just now that i can type looking at the screen, not the keyboard pretty well, not as well, but pretty well considering my method. I guess I tend to float my eyes back and forth though.

I look at the keyboard when I type. If I didn't, I'd probaly make a bunch of errors.

I am able to type without looking at the keyboard at about 100 or so words per minute.
All those hours of Neopets when I was 11 did it to me. :P

Hmmm....

I tend to look at the keyboard when I type with occasional glances at the screen. But I wouldn't call it "hunt and peck" since I know where I can find each letter. I can usually tell when I've made a mistake without looking at the screen...like I can "feel" that I missed a key or hit the wrong key. I can type at about 48 WPM....60+ if I don't take the time to fix my mistakes

I only touch-type except for when I need to use numbers on my laptop. :)
