I read from somewhere that we actually take in our "snot" 12 times a day without us knowing. When I read that first I find it gross, now I dun.

Makes sense, but it's still pretty nasty. We sneeze to get the stuff stuck in the mucus out of our nose. Not into our mouths.

You know...(not that I promote eating the content of your nostrils), your nose is connected to your throat. Phlem is basically snot dripping the wrong way and we've all had that.

I think I am gonna throw up!

You do realize that throwing up is basically on the same level of gross?

Amethyst, although I hate to admit it, I did too, and rarely got sick. >_>

Hm... I did a search on google and this is what I got (off "kidzworld.com"):

Quote:
The average person swallows about a quart of snot a day.

So, "eating" snot is as normal as your skin shedding unnoticed everyday. :) Anywho, I never ate snot/boogers/whatchamacallit, but I rarely get sick.

Yeah, but that kind of ingestion you don't notice. Purposeful ingestion of material that your body tries to get rid of.....that's another story.

That'll take me a while to get use to knowing, but it's not the grossest thing I've heard.

People who grow up in homes that aren't constantly cleaned have less allergies.

I doubt that that's true. Snot is made up of dust/dirt/icky stuff/whatever comes in where the sun don't shine, and that would be severely UNhealthly.

I always ate my snot, up to when I was about six or seven. I was last sick about two years ago. *jumps in hedge, hides in shame, and never comes out*
